Mikah kicks the horse harder to push the stallion to its peak- the animal started to breath harder while trying it's hardest to obtain speeds it's never reached before...but eventually they collected quite enough distance from the law, though officers were still on their tails, they were just too far for the kids to be seen by them. However this ride had to end soon or else the chipmunk would very soon bite the ground from his leaking wound.

Mikah was undoubtedly desperate to save his friend, he knows he wouldn't be able to rejoin the group if Denzel died on his watch but on another note, he'd be alone again...though solitude worked in his favor most of the time-

-he'd be left with more pain and with added guilt that he doesn't think he could bare. He grabs the satchel off the horse, reaching over Denzel- who was still able to grip the feline's vest-, grabbing the bags off and throwing them into the bushes to find later.

The chipmunk could feel himself slipping into unconsciousness but he hears a demand from the cat that shoots his eyes open
"Don't sleep, Denz"
Mikah said in a panicked but hushed tone but the voice sounded louder in Denzel's perspective, everything seemed louder and more echoed than it normally did

"I was..j-just resting.."
Was all he was able to say before the feline stopped the horse by a tree and lifted Denzel up onto his shoulder, showing a great amount of strength of his own as he takes the chipmunk up high onto the more stable branches.

The horse had ran off at just the right time as the law speeds past the two young males just as they get comfortable in the oak branches. Mikah, now, able to sit himself down and keep Denzel next to him.

"Denz, I'm gonna use your shirt to stop the bleeding"
The feline takes out one of his claws and begins to slash the fabric of the shirt, cutting it off so the rodent didn't need to lift his arm. Denzel had bags under his eyes from exhaustion and the loss of blood and half of his small body was drenched in his own mess, the feline was horrified to see so much and he looked at the wound carefully- thankfully the bullet had passed right through- spotting an entry wound from the back and a exit wound from the front.

"You'll be fine Denz, I'll fix you up"
Denzel listened but had his own doubts, he felt dizzy while his vision played games with him, he could feel the wind blow against him and he shivered- feeling colder than he's ever felt before in his life, much more so than even the middle of winter. Even with these feelings of weakness and the thought of dying crossing his mind, he looked over at Mikah and smiled- his eyes barely able to stay open
"Heheheheh...c-can...can I get that kiss now?"

Mikah was caught off guard by this- the laugh and the sudden request but he wasn't worried about such nonsense right about now and begins to wrap Denzel's wound with his shirt, getting the blood to stop leaking out of his friend
"Denz, just save it...you're gonna need that energy to stay alive"

"I-I....I'm so tired..."

Mikah grabs Denzel's cheeks and makes the rodent look him in the eyes, trying to get him to focus
"Denz...Please- I need you to stay awake, keep your eyes open for me"

Denzel's eyes remained focus but his voice was so weak, he desperately kept his eyes open even if it was only halfway- he'd feel guilty if he left the feline here to wallow in his sorrows if he died right now
"I'm trying, Mikah....You're making it worse"

"Save your breath then- stay awake, least an hour or so"
Mikah rubbed Denzel's neck and leaned back on the branch as he allowed Denzel to lay his head on his chest, hearing raspy breathing as the chipmunk gets comfortable in the warm gentle embrace.
