The day seemed to be charming by its stillness and peace, feeling it's cool soft breeze that barely moved the leaves on tall trees, the grassland is a beautiful sight to take in while taking a nice ride down the hills and over to the next to see what else the boundless and free land might offer.
Denzel lays there on the ground looking over a lone grazing buck. The chipmunk whispers to his comrade, continuing a conversation they previously shared
"Look- my brother may seem like some sort perfectionist, which he just might be...-"
Muttering that last part
"-he's gonna see you and me through for sure and that stunt that Mikah pulled with saving me will surely earn him a spot also""What's going on with you and him? Ya both seemed like completely different people when you two went against the law like that"
The klowdmouse asked, keeping his voice low as to not alert the deer Denzel was aiming his revolver at"Simply kindred spirits I guess, Mikah hasn't told me much about being a gunslinger so that's a wet rag for a different day and as for me, Vincent taught me all I know, and from what I seen and did....ain't hard to do a bit of killin"
Chan didn't take too kindly to that last part but continued to pry due to him wanting to be this way so he could properly protect the group
"Wha-What does it feel like? To take someone's life like that""It don't feel too good but it don't feel bad neither...it's like split second reaction towards something you know you want- like if I asked you a question that you're sure to know the answer to or something like that...I don't know"
Denzel rubbed his chin before letting out a sigh
"Ain't gonna hit this deer from here, let's move up a bit""Think you outta go alone, less noise the better"
Chan suggests which Denzel agrees and heads down the hill alone, approaching the deer, walking around it so he may catch it from the side-getting low as he peeks over some bushes. He takes a deep breath as he aims, closing his blue eye as he exhales then fired his weapon
~Poomkschh~
The bullet barely misses the head and shoots through the jugular of the animal, causing it to let out a painful cry as he tries to shake his head but only does more damage to himself as he tries to run- dropping not even far enough to get out of Denzel's vision.
The chipmunk calls his friend down and reloaded his revolver. He didn't have any doubts he'd miss a killing shot even if it wasn't the one he was going for, he's been doing this kind of thing for quite some time.
As the two walk over to the dying animal, Chan sighs as he spoke with a sort of relaxed and nonchalant tone of voice
"Have Uh...you and Vincent always liked killing?"The chipmunk perked his ears up and stared at the other with a raised eyebrow, what an odd thing to ask
"How you mean?""You and Vincent seem to just be crazed veterans in that sort of thing and seeing you guys do it so easily just rattles my head like dice-"
Chan watches as Denzel knelt down and grabbed the antlers of the deer as he watched the munk look away when he twisted the head back to break its neck- putting it out of it's misery. He drops the head and sorta shakes his hands clean even though there was nothing on him
"Crazed Veterans, Huh?"
He muttered as he gazed at Chan, tab bit offended that him and his brother could possibly be looked at like this by more than just Chan
"I don't like killing-and killing folk wasn't something I ever thought of doing....my brother, he understands what joy life can bring but he ain't a fool and knows that kind of life is earned and there's gonna be people that don't deserve it-I'm not talking about the young and ignorant, I'm talking about the old and corrupted"
Denzel explains as he rubbed his shoulder, still in a lot of pain from his wound. He had took the cloth off his injury before they left camp so he could throw on one of Vincent's shirts, now being dressed in a black T with the suspenders holding up his pants.
Denzel continued to speak, low and almost like he was emotionless but he only was trying to keep a level head
"Those guys...they plotted you and your mothers fate for months- we missed one but he was barely a lackey of it all so it hardly mattered- I don't regret the killings of the other two at all"
