The cat and the rodent found their way back to the smith's residence and enjoyed a nice plucked chicken over a fire on the side of the house. They were rather easy on each other when it came to conversation and took the time to get to know one another better since they did just commit a crime with each other.Mikah has been orphaned for the past year now, he's been managing to live pretty well and was actually from a smaller town next door to this one- quite a trip to make on foot. He doesn't bother saying much more and the rodent didn't mind, eating and ranting on about his own life.
Though "living well" might be over selling it a bit but he's alive and that's all that mattered to him. Mikah quickly picked up on how ambitious Denzel was by listening to him repeat stories of other outlaws and his dreams of becoming something along those lines, his intentions were not pure but purity wasn't what Mikah cared about anyway and liked the idea of being able to do whatever he liked and go where he pleased without having to sleep in the woods or sleep with one eye open all the time. Mikah was the first to hold the revolver the slightly older munk was given earlier, it basically sealed the deal that they were gonna be a great pair...
"So how bout it? You wanna zig where I zag?
The rodent looked over with a grin, the feline glances over intently with those maroon eyes then nodded with the same ambitious grin
"Sure, why not"Chapter 2:
"Transgressions"
January 20th 1906Vincent exits his cabin after opening a can of peaches and begins dropping individuals into his mouth as he makes it to the porch. To his surprise, Denzel was napping there and not only that but he had someone with him- they both had blood on their hands and this made Vincent worry even more as he throws a kick to his little brothers boot, who awoke with a snort-Mikah already being up and watching the two carefully as Denzel grunted
"Huh? Wha-""the hell did you do?"
Vincent eyed his brother with disappointment- not even worried about the other individual right now"What're you goin' on about now?"
Denzel whined as he was about to wipe his eyes but Vincent grabbed his hand before he could-
"You're covered in blood- explain"Denzel looked over at Mikah who was keeping well out of this by whistling while facing the opposite direction- which only made the younger chipmunk huff as he keeps his attention on Vincent
"We were hunting and plucked a bird..say-aint you starting work today?"Vincent sighed as he ate another peach, trynna relax his nerves after waking up to such a unpleasant sight, releasing his brothers wrist
"Yup, I'm leaving the house in your care today so don't go wandering off"Denzel lifted an eyebrow as he heard this- not quite thrilled about this
"Wouldn't that like interfere with- ya know, my life? If you're working everyday...how will I ever get to go out?""Denz...your life right now consist of hanging around the saloon talking to people, stickin' yer nose where it don't belong and apparently picking up strays now- no offense little one, I don't know you"
Vincent spoke in his calmest of tones, quite relaxed now that he knew his brother wasn't out here hurtin folk- though he never took his brother for such a scoundrel in the first place. The feline was a bit awkward since he was kind of intimidated by Vincent but tried to be friendly
"None taken sir- I'm Mikah""Mikah this is Vincent, he's my dear older brother"
Denzel states while fixing his pants- turning away from his brother as he stretchedVincent tips his hat to the feline
"It's a pleasure, sorry if I startled ya"
This made the cat smile as Denzel spoke after feeling defeated in not getting to wander off per usual
