It's been two weeks and his halo has come off. He was now just wearing a collar for support. That nasty drip had gone too. He was sitting up in bed as much as his plastered body allows. He was asleep when I came in so I sat in the chair. The twins were with my mom like every day I come to the hospital and will stay like that until he asks to see them. At the moment he hasn't remembered he is a father yet. Not like that, he keeps telling me he wanted me and the twins safe even if he hurt himself in the process which he did. And we nearly lost him cos of it. But I don't want to push it. I will let him remember. Sofia our daughter has told him he is her father by not letting go of his finger and screaming when I move her from him. Tomorrow, I may bring them with my mom. There I was sat in the chair reading a book which I brought with me. And have been doing so for a while. When I hear.

"Hey".

" Huh" I look up from my book.

"Ava".

I look over to the bed there was Jordan awake. " How are you feeling?".

"Bored".

" Do you want the TV on?".

"No, I want to go out".

"But you haven't moved out of bed since you came to the hospital well since the accident".

" I can't sit here doing nothing" he moans.

"I know it's difficult to stay still now but you need to recover fully before you are able to be normal like before the accident".

" You sound like my parents".

"Oh, have you seen them?".

" No spoke to them on the phone. I don't want to see my mom".

"Why is that?" I ask.

"I just don't want to see her or Jon".

" Are you ever going to tell me what happened between you, Jon and your mom all those years ago?".

"What the fight at Jon's house? You were there same with Joe. That was all about me going out with you".

" That's not it".

"That's the reason cos of our fight at his house and during Thanksgiving".

He closes his eyes. I will leave it for now. He doesn't remember his teenage years or that he just blocked out for other reasons than the accident and his post-traumatic amnesia. I don't know, he remembers bits and pieces where it suits him. I settle back in my seat with my book.

" Can you just leave it? I don't want to see my mom or my brother Jon. So drop it".

I didn't utter another word just carried on reading my book. This was what it was like for a while. He was giving me the silent treatment or it seems like it. It might be more likely he is asleep again.

He didn't tell me that he was getting assessed by his doctor and physio today. So I got a shock when they came in as Jordan was still sleeping. He still hasn't stirred.

"Jordan you need to wake up," I say shaking his right shoulder.

"Five more minutes" he soon mutters.

"No, you need to be awake now. Your doctor is here".

He grumbles something and then soon opens his eyes.

" Hello, Jordan. How are you feeling today?" asked his doctor " Any? Pain, any dizziness".

"No. Just bored".

" Now since you have had the halo off and the drip has been removed from you. You now should be able to sit up and get stronger and be more mobile to then be able to move around in a wheelchair. You do need x rays on your other injuries to make sure they are healing. Once they are healed you then should be able to have the plaster removed. Now, this is the hard bit".

His doctor looks over at the physio.

"Hi, I'm Pete and I'm going to be your physiotherapist. I will be taking you through all the steps of being able to get back physically and mentally where you were before your accident. It's going to be a long recovery. But you will get there" Jordan just looks at them not saying a thing. I can't work out if he's angry or upset. But he does have a long way to go yet. "So your first session today is just massage and try to remove any bed sores. We won't go into redoing your life skills until your left arm and shoulder are healed as you're left-handed according to your girlfriend".

I feel his browns eyes look over at me. Now I can see sadness there. I squeeze his hand as reassurance. He tries to smile back. But I can see tears in his eyes.

" I feel so useless" I hear him say.

"No you're not. You had a serious accident which has resulted in some serious injuries".

" I'm so useless. I have to have someone help to do stuff". He said to me quietly " Even to the toilet".

"J, you have a catheter".

I feel for him. My very active Rock star boyfriend is struggling since he woke up from his coma. I stayed and watched him get massaged. His trim body was still there barely but not muscle now. More like he is wasting away as he isn't moving around but also he isn't really eating. He has the nurse help him eat as he can't really hold a fork in his right hand. He is still very weak. The doctor had gone a while ago. So it's just me, Pete and Jordan here in his room. I don't know whether he getting tired or not enjoying it as he was starting to complain. But when I look closer he does look tired. He has got a long road ahead to recovery. A long way to go before he is that Rock star.

" I'm tired" I faintly hear from the bed.

" We will leave it there for now. You did good Jordan".

Jordan nods slowly and was very quiet. We knew why when he starts to snore. I kiss his forehead before I leave the room with his physio. Jordan needs rest so I'm going home. Pete his physio had gone. But I was still there one more glance at my sleeping boyfriend.

"Goodbye Jordan. See you tomorrow".

"Ava, where ya goin?"...
