Time and Time Again - Seremi Angst

Hello, everyone! This isn't an update for the new episode, but while I was deciding on what to write, I ending up writing this instead. Tbh with you, I have a bit of writer's block, so I will take until June 19th to update properly. 

For context, this is a Remi x Sera one-shot where Sera keeps on turning back time to save Remi from being killed by EMBER, but she repeatedly fails. Sera has a grandmother (just an OC for this one-shot) who is a 9.0 and she is the one who helps her rewind. Ngl, I teared up a bit when I wrote this out and to add onto the pain, I read it aloud.

Sera's POV

Please...

I--I just can't take this anymore...

Every time I fail and I can't bear to see you die time and time again.

I tried 224 times...

But every time, I just see someone kill you.

I've seen Volcan stab you in the stomach, I've seen those monstrous flame claws seep through your dark gray jacket effortlessly.

I've even seen someone I don't know murder you in cold blood.

This was the 225th time I came back to save you.

I felt sick and tired of coming back to this place, hoping you wouldn't die. Only to be disappointed. Time and time again.

I knelt beside Remi in an alleyway, I froze time for a bit. We couldn't stay like this forever. Everything would shift back to full color soon.

I kept me and Remi unfrozen while a few other EMBER members were in the middle of attacking us, but they were motionless and grey-scale.

"Why...why are you crying...?" The pink-haired girl asked, her voice barely audible. Hot crimson liquid poured out of her mouth.

She was smiling sadly.

I choked and shed a tear, allowing myself to make soft whimpers.

"Why, you ask? You're dying, Remi, and there's nothing I can do. That should be my question. Why aren't you worried that you'll die?"

The Superheroine looked at me for a moment.

"Because...you're here with me." She answered. "Even if I'm dying, at least the last thing I'll see is your face. The face of the girl I fell in love with."

At that point, I couldn't take it anymore and burst into terrible sobs.
