John's POV

Today was the day.

The day of the masquerade party.

School went on like usual, with the time of first period beginning at 8:00AM and the time of eighth period ending at 3:00PM. Except, I don't think that anyone in class seemed to be listening to the teacher because they were too excited for the party later.

Of course, I was also one of those people, too. Usually, I didn't listen in class since I found everything boring and unnecessary, but the masquerade party became another reason to stare off into space and ignore the teacher's endless lessons about who-knows-what.

That reminds me.

I wonder what kinds of schools will come to Wellston?

Once the final bell rang, I was one of the first ones to leave the classroom and quickly headed to the boys' dormitories.

If I remembered correctly, all students were supposed to arrive at the school at 5:00PM for the party to begin.

So I guess that until that time approaches, the staff just expected us to chill in our rooms.

I sighed while flopping down on my bed.

Still, this sucks.

Even if the Royals are allowed to skip class, though it's advised they don't, the teachers still insist that we all stay in our classrooms for the last couple of school days.

I mean, what's the point?

It's about halfway into June, and we have a week left of classes.

It'd be much easier if we just stopped right here and ended school right now.

Though, we do have one more mission to complete.

Find Volcan and take her down, along with the rest of EMBER.

Before, we had taken down small fry and most of the low-tier districts seemed to be free.

But one day, each of us found something, a letter, that was personally delivered to us. They were all placed somewhere in our dorm rooms, clearly wanting to be noticed.

All of our letters said the same thing, even though there were six of us.

Good day to you, Offender of the Law. By now, we've hoped that you've received this letter. However, because we are not people that like to entertain ourselves with such foolish conversation, we will get straight to the point. We've been watching you for a long time, you see. The only reason why you are still alive is not by mere luck. No, not at all. We've kept you alive because we are aware. Aware of how strong you are. Of course, do not feel comforted by these words of praise. And why may you ask?

Citizens like you cannot live like this. No, that would be terrible on our part. Letting filth like yourselves roam the area...absolutely disgusting. That is why we will settle this matter once and all. If you do not wish your friends and family to suffer, do as we say.

Come to XXX District for our final battle on June 15th. Winner lives, loser dies. Do not fret. This area is abandoned and barely remembered. No one has lived there for years. Well...
