Regulus feels himself stir from his slumber until eventually, he jolts upwards due to the feeling of somebody beside him in his bed, specifically the feeling of somebody's arms wrapped tightly around him.
Regulus pants heavily as he risks peering at the other individual, fearing the worst; the door had been locked, he had checked, there is no way Snape would've found a way in. But perhaps Regulus had been foolish enough to leave a window open? Or his spare key out in the open? For anybody to see? For anybody to take?
Regulus swallows. He glances down a lightly snoring James, no less. Regulus sighs as he shuffles back down into the comforting warmness of James' strong arms. There is a faint aroma of alcohol radiating off of his boyfriend, the identifiable scent of a night spent clubbing.
James stirs lightly. He cracks open an eye. "Morning," His voice is husky due to his sleep ridden voice.
Regulus rolls to face James' still clothed chest, his clothes from his gig. "What the fuck are you doing here? How did you even get into my flat?" Regulus inquires. He isn't particularly off put by the idea of James in his bed, but he would like to know how the dark haired man managed to get into his bed in the first place.
James hums as he presses a kiss to the top of Regulus' soft curls. "You were really upset last night, I didn't want you to be all alone," He utters sleepily, his voice raspy. "So I drove straight down here. I didn't have a key, of course, but I'm sure Andromeda and Ted are going to make me pay for waking them up at four in the morning to get my hands on one," The corners of James' lips curl upwards into a soft smile.
Regulus stares at James for a very long time before eventually gripping him by the back of his head, fingers interwoven with tuffs of dark, unruly hair as he pulls the elder man in for a kiss.
Naturally, James kisses back hungrily. "I should've let you know I was coming down to see you, sorry for giving you such a fright, angel," James murmurs against Regulus lips.
"S'okay, sorry for freaking you out last night," Regulus replies.
James nuzzles his nose against Regulus'. "About last night....eh?" He says quietly. "What happened? Are you ready to talk about it now, darling?"
Regulus sighs. His breath hitches within his throat. "I er.....I ran into...uh Snape at the store last night," Regulus watches as James' jaw visually clenches.
"You ran into Snivillus last night?" James repeats slowly, his eyes frosted over with something.
Regulus nods, inhaling sharply. "Yeah, I did," He can already feel a cold, reminding shiver run upwards along his spine.
"He...he didn't bother you...did he?" James whispers, his voice quiet and almost silent; as though fearing the answer.
Regulus shakes his head quickly. "No," He answers. "He just...." Regulus trails with a sigh. He can feel his eyes prickling with tears at the thought of Severus Snape's hands crawling across his belly.
James shuffles closer to him, gripping him tighter as he let's one hand move to brush against Regulus' cheek as a few stray tears roll down it. "He what, Reg? What did that git do to you, love? It's okay, you can tell me, it's alright," James inquires gently. "I'm right here, okay?"
However much James Potter may want to hunt Severus Snape down right this instant, ensuring Regulus is more than okay is much more important right now.
Rearranging Snape's face can wait, for a little while, at least.
Regulus feels his shoulders begin to shake slightly. "I just wanted to buy some fuckin' cherries," He whispers tearfully. "Baby boy really wanted some so when I saw them, I picked a packet up but then he ran into me a-and," Regulus pauses to let out a soft sob.
