LIE 14

Aidan continued brushing his lips against mine until I ran out of breath. Sinuklian ko rin ang bawat haplos ng kanyang labi sa akin, with the same ferocity and feeling.

Dahan-dahan ay winakasan namin ang halikan. The rain continued pouring. Hindi pa ito nahiya sa eksena namin sa gitna ng ulan.

I stared at Aidan so closely and started catching my breath. Tahimik lang din siyang nakatingin sa akin hanggang sa napapikit siya at napamura sa hangin.

"What's wrong?" Kumunot ang noo ko habang tinititigan siya. But when I suddenly heard the triggering word—wrong, slowly, I realized what just happened.

Marahan kong hinawakan ang labi at napakurap sa puwesto. Abala pa rin si Aidan sa pagtitingin sa himpapawid, habang may suot na ngiting ngayon ko lang nakita. I was able to gaze at his glory and realized that I kissed someone else other than Anthony.

Bigla akong napatayo. My eyes fluttered with disbelief. Unti-unting bumilis ang tibok ng puso ko, ang mga daliri sa kamay ay hindi pa rin matanggal sa sariling labi. My pulse got so crazy, that I felt it even in my lips and fingers.

Nagkatinginan ulit kami ni Aidan. I couldn't read whatever emotion was in his eyes. But I know he didn't think of this as a mistake. Pero ang unang lumabas sa bibig ko ay pangalan na pilit kong kinalimutan.

"Anthony..." I stopped so I could keep up with my breath. "Do you know Anthony?"

Hindi ko alam kung naririnig niya ba ako sa gitna ng malakas na ulan. But Aidan remained quiet.

"Do you know Anthony, Aidan?" I asked him again.

Napakurap lang siya at napatitig sa akin. The thunder suddenly roared as I started to feel really cold on the inside.

"Are you Anthony?" The words I never expected to say got out of my mouth.

Unti-unti akong napahakbang papalapit sa kanya.

"Are you Anthony, Aidan?"

I stood in front of him. Nakaupo lang siya kaya tinitingala ako. The rain trickled down his face as I freely gazed at his familiar features.

Slowly, my hand caressed his cheeks. "Is that you, love?" I swear that it almost sounded like a whisper.

Napapikit lang si Aidan. At sa pagmulat niya'y pagtulo rin ng magkahalo-halong ulan at kakaibang basa sa kanyang mata. But I was taken aback when he suddenly pulled me for a kiss again.

He kissed me with so much intensity that my knees wobbled. Nanghina na ako, sa puntong nakadepende na lang ako sa mahigpit niyang hawak sa akin. His lips aggressively brushed mine with longing and hunger, but I couldn't equal it at all.
