AURELIA HEREDIA

"How dare you..."

Biglang lumakas ang pagbuhos ng ulan, halos tinatangay na ang mga bukas na bintana sa maliit na bahay ni Norris.

"How dare you!" It was as if Chad's life flashed before my eyes when I trembled to raise the gun to his father's face.

"Heredia..." mahina niya akong tinawag habang tinataas ang kanyang kamay sa ere. He closed his eyes and made me feel like he was regretting every moment he thought of killing his own child.

Chad...

If Chad was here, he would tell me to stop.

Ngunit, pinakain ko pa rin ang sarili ng makamundong galit. Slowly, a smile crept on my lips.

Chad is not here and nothing can bring him back anymore.

"You killer..." I uttered those words like they weren't wrong to say.

Kinasa ko ang baril at hindi pinansin ang malakas na pagkulog sa himpapawad. Ito'y kung makaasta na mas galit pa sa akin.

The lightning struck so powerfully again that it fueled a consumable rage inside of me.

Kahit nanlalabo na ang mga mata at natutuyo na ang mga nahulog na butil na luha sa aking pisngi ay nagpatuloy pa rin ako.

"How dare you sacrifice your own child!" Sinigawan ko siya at unti-unting naglakas loob na humakbang. But my stride only made him feel less threatened.

"You don't understand, Aurelia..."

For some odd reason, he thinks I couldn't kill him.

"Shut up!" Kinasa ko ang hawak na baril at itinutok sa ulo niya. But then my hands trembled, so I slowly positioned it to his heart.

No, his mouth... his forehead, and then his heart.

Just like how they shot Chad once on his head, twice on his mouth, and his heart... three times.

"Shut... up," mariin kong sabi at pinilit ang sarili na hindi umiyak.

All the suspended tears in my eyes are clouding my vision.

Baka hindi ko mapatay nang tuluyan si Norris.

"I d-did not kill my c-child," he explained to me while staring at the gun aiming at him.

I scoffed. "You did not kill your child but you killed my friends! Pinatay mo si Zyf at anak nila ni Eula! You ruined their lives, you monster!"

Unti-unti niyang itinaas ang tingin para titigan ako. I saw a hint of regret in his eyes but I didn't dare to fathom it.

Mamamatay tao siya. And even the thought that he did that to kill me... along with Chad just because of his work disgusts me.
