AMANDA'S POV
"Why did you ask Uche to wait for you? You've started to like him now or what ?" Chioma asked after we left the compound
I looked at her with a mortified look on my face
"What?! No! I mean yes I like him as an individual and I didn't ask him to wait for me"
She looked at me with a funny look on her face
"𝒉𝒎𝒎𝒎 you like him as an individual? Okay 𝒐𝒐"
"Yes Chioma, you're literally like my only friend here, don't you want me to have more friends?"
"Of course I do! Uche will be a good friend"
The market was so full with people, I held onto Chioma's hand so I don't get lost. 𝑵𝒏𝒆 𝒏𝒏𝒆 said the market was full today because today was Saturday and most people didn't have work to go to today.
"Where are we going to first ?" I asked Chioma
" 𝒏𝒏𝒆 𝒏𝒏𝒆 wants to get some food stuffs for the house first but I want to get some clothes"
"What about my coffee?" I asked her in a baby like voice
"We'll get it for you Amanda! 𝒂𝒉"
I smiled at her and followed her to get her clothes. Chioma and I walked to a stall with heaps of clothes in front of the stall
"Is this where you're getting your clothes?" I asked her
"Yes it's 𝒐𝒌𝒓𝒊𝒌𝒂 clothes, first grade"
I looked at her confused, for the 20th time today
"What's 𝒐𝒌𝒓𝒊𝒌𝒂?"
This time she didn't laugh at me
"𝒐𝒌𝒓𝒊𝒌𝒂 clothes are like thrifts clothes, that's what you guys call it right ?"
"Oooh okay then"
The owner of the stall was holding the clothes one after the other and shouting on the top of his voice
"𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒃𝒖𝒚 𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒅𝒆 𝒕𝒐𝒑𝒔 500 𝒏𝒂𝒊𝒓𝒂 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆" (come and get beautiful tops)
Another person at another stall was also shouting to attract customers. Chioma was already selecting the ones she was going to buy. I was watching her while she picked them out
"Amanda are you not going to buy some for yourself? See fine fine tops!"
I shook my head and laughed lightly
"I have enough already"
"Is that so?or you don't want to buy these type of clothes"
"What no?! It's not that, I honestly have too much already"
She nodded her head at me
"I was only joking but since you have plenty I'll just drop these ones and come and pick your excess for free!"
I laughed at her
"You know I'll give you If you ask nicely"
She smiled at me
I waited for her patiently as she negotiated with the man selling the tops. It was already two o'clock in the afternoon. I don't even understand how time flew so fast. Chioma finished with the man and came back to me with a big smile on her face
