AMANDA'S POV

I keep twisting and turning on the bed, I feel so uncomfortable and the pain in my stomach won't stop and when I turn to the other side of the bed Chioma isn't there. I stay on the bed and hope that the pain will eventually disappear, it doesn't exactly work the pain is still there but less than before.

When I get up from the bed there is a very large red stain on my side of the bed, my period. That explains the intense stomach pain, cramps. I mentally scold myself for forgetting to get pain killers like I had initially planned before. I manage to get up from the bed and I remove the blood stained bed sheets and replace them with new clean sheets. I put the dirty sheets in my laundry bag along with my other dirty clothes.

I don't find Chioma in the kitchen or sitting room, neither is grandma in her room or anywhere in the house, I empty the kettle of hot water on the gas cooker and into a bucket to take a bath and clean myself up. I hate being on my period because of how I get, it makes me lazy and unnecessary angry and annoyed at everyone like now, Chioma and grandma left without preparing breakfast or anything.

After I take my bath and dress up I move to the kitchen to get something light and easy to make, I lost my large appetite the moment I stepped into the toilet to take my bath. I make myself a small cup of coffee and remove one slice of bread from the loaf mom bought last night. I take my breakfast in the kitchen and wash up after I'm done. The cramps are still hurting me bad and I scold myself again for not getting something for the cramps, I walk to mom's room to find her, she's sitting on the bed with her laptop and books all over the bed.

"𝒂𝒉 𝒂𝒉 𝒏𝒏𝒆 are you okay?" She asks when I walk in noticing my facial expression, I shake my head

"Do you have any pain killers here? I have cramps"

"Oh I'm sorry, Ifeoma must have something here let me check"  she moves to Aunty Ifeoma's side of the room and pulls out a small bag from under the small table Aunty keeps her books, bible and other things. She removes one pack and hands it to me

"Take this one take two of it. It's Panadol Extra, it works very fast" I nod my head at her

"Do you know where Chioma and grandma are?" I ask her, I don't bother to ask about Aunty Ifeoma

"𝑵𝒏𝒆 went to collect her new glasses from the hospital, she had to change the lens of the old one, Chioma just accompanied her but they should be back anytime soon" I nod my head at her

"Have you had anything to eat? You need to eat before you take that"

"I had coffee and a slice of bread, I could barely even finish it"

"That's fine, once you take this you'll get your appetite back. Just go to your room and rest oo 𝒏𝒘𝒂𝒎. I'll be going out soon just in case you wake up and don't find me in the house" I nod my head and leave her room, i walk into mine to rest. I find my phone vibrating on the bed when I get to the room, I pick it up and see that I have one new message from Uche

𝑯𝒆𝒚 𝒈𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝒅𝒊𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒔𝒍𝒆𝒆𝒑 𝒘𝒆𝒍𝒍? 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒃𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓?

I totally forgot I was supposed to meet with Uche today but with the way my cramps are hurting I won't be able to walk all the way to his house, I dial his number instantly rather that texting him, he picks up almost immediately

Hey Good morning Dede his voice is very clear and pleasant to listen to

Hey my voice comes out more stressed than it already is
