AMANDA'S POV

I woke up to loud scraping noises that was definitely coming from the kitchen. I picked up my phone from my side of the bed to check the time

   7: 45 am

I said a quick prayer and got up from the bed. Chioma's side of the bed was neatly arranged and the wrapper she used as a cover was neatly folded on the bed.

I got up and arranged my own side of the bed, I didn't sleep with a cover because the weather was  a little hot for me. Chioma laughed at me when I told her this.

"It Is because you stayed in 𝒐𝒚𝒊𝒏𝒃𝒐 land for a long time, next week  𝒆𝒏𝒉 , you'll be telling me another story"  ( 𝒐𝒚𝒊𝒏𝒃𝒐 𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒅 - Abroad)

I walked out of the room to find everyone. Chioma was in the kitchen, she was washing the dishes, keeping the washed dishes and pots by her left side and the dirty ones by her right. She was using her headphones so she didn't hear me walk in.

I tapped her on her shoulders; " Chioma good morning"

She looked stunned, she removed her headphones and put them in her pocket where her phone was.

  "Did I scare you ? I'm sorry"

"Yes"  she was laughing as she paced her hands on her chest to calm her heart beat.

"I'm sorry" I said again smiling at her

"It's no problem, 𝒌𝒆𝒅𝒖 𝒌𝒂 𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒍𝒊 𝒈𝒊 𝒅𝒊 ?  ( how was your night ?)

"My night was okay, how was yours ?"

  "I slept very well"

"Okay, why didn't you wake me up earlier ? I could have helped you in the kitchen". I folded my hands on my chest waiting for her response.

"It's okay , you just got here there's no way I'll make you work on your second day" she winked at me .

"Very funny Chioma" I laughed at her weak attempt at winking

"My mom is around, you can go say hello to her"

I nodded at her and walked to Grandma's room first to greet her. I knocked lightly on the door incase she was still sleeping.

  "Come in"

I walked inside the room, 𝒏𝒏𝒆 𝒏𝒏𝒆 was already up: she was reading her bible and she had her glasses on.

"𝒖𝒕𝒖𝒕𝒖 𝒐𝒎𝒂 𝒏𝒏𝒆 𝒏𝒏𝒆" ( good morning grandma)

I prostrated a little to show respect

"𝒖𝒕𝒖𝒕𝒖 𝒐𝒎𝒂, 𝒊 𝒓𝒂𝒉𝒖𝒌𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒂 𝒏𝒌𝒆 𝒐𝒎𝒂 ?" ( Good morning, did you sleep well ? )

"Yes ma , did you sleep well too ?"

"YesI did 𝒐𝒎𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒉𝒂 . Have you seen your Aunty ?" ( beautiful )

"Not yet  𝒏𝒏𝒆 𝒏𝒏𝒆 , I wanted to greet you first" she smiled at me and pulled me close to her for a brief hug ( grand mother )

   "Go and greet your Aunty"

Aunty Ifeoma was already in the living room when I walked in. She was sitting in the sofa in her nurse uniform and was looking at something on her phone. Aunty Ifeoma was scary to me, and I remember being very scared of her when I was little, maybe it was because of that stern look she always had on her face , seriously I can't remember anytime she ever smiled at me. She wasn't mean to me at all, I know she loves me. She just isn't one to show too much emotions.
