AMANDA'S POV

"My house is not very far from here, it's only 30 minutes away" Uche said after I got his number I nodded my head at him

"I like your hair it suits you, you look like a proper Igbo girl with your all back and all"

"Thank you, I didn't know I didn't look like an Igbo girl before" I said sarcastically, he stopped walking and started laughing, I love how everything is so easy with him and how I'm actually completely comfortable around him I mean I'm even making jokes

"Oooh you did not, you know what you actually looked like before?" I nodded my head at him signifying a "no"

"Like a typical black American woman and I don't mean that's a bad thing because black is gold but with your new hair style you look like an African woman" I laughed lightly at him

"What are you saying Uche?"

"I don't know either but your new hair suits you and your face. It's pretty"

"Thanks"

"I'm sorry about Aunty Ifeoma" he said after a few minutes of silence had passed, I shrugged at him honestly at this point I couldn't even care less about what happened at the house with Aunty Ifeoma

"She always has this tough personality but I know she's not like that, I've known her since I was a little boy 𝒐𝒐, something or someone must have triggered her really bad for her to turn into this" I sighed deeply, I want to be done with this topic

"Just let it be because honestly I don't know why she's like that and I don't think I can do anything about it" He nods his head at me and I hope it's because he understands what I mean. We walk for another 10 minutes before we stop

"That's my house, the one with the red gate" he points at a house with a short fence surrounding it and a small red gate at the front, the red paint is chipping away and it has become slightly brown, he pushed the gate open and we walk in. The compound is smaller than grandma's house but the house in the middle of the compound is a bit larger than hers. The roof of the house is blue and shining like it has been polished but the house is not painted.

"You're welcome to come inside or do you want to stay and wait, I'll have to change my clothes since we're going out again"

"I'll go inside" he nods his head at me again and I follow him as he opens the door to let me in first. Inside the house looks small and smells like fresh oranges. The inside of the house is also not painted.

"Welcome to my home you can make yourself comfortable, sit anyway you like" I sit down on the wooden chair by the couch

"I'll be right back, I'll change quickly" he moves quickly into the house. I remove my phone from my pocket to check what the time is : 3:30pm, is it me or is time moving so slow?

"Good Afternoon ma" I look up to find the owner of the voice, a little boy is standing by the TV stand with is hands behind his back, he has a striking resemblance with Uche which means this is Uche's younger brother. I instantly smile at him which makes him relax instantly making him take a few steps towards me

"My name is Kelechi are you brother Uche's friend?"

"Yes my name is Amanda, nice to meet you Kelechi" he steps closer to me and places his hand on my thighs to balance himself

"You talk like the 𝒐𝒚𝒊𝒏𝒃𝒐 people in the tv but you're not 𝒐𝒚𝒊𝒏𝒃𝒐 right?" I smile at him, he's so adorable (white people)

"No I'm not I only speak like them because I have an accent" he twists his face in confusion

"What does that mean?" How do I explain this to him?
