A taste of you is like pulling the trigger
-River Mitchell
"11 more till Christmas break. Urgh, I can't wait," Ebony moans in annoyance.
"Yeah except I have to go to my dad's. Guess who's spending thanksgiving with their step mama who has probably got a new ass for Christmas and her freaking Barbie child," I rant. I'm not looking forward to this. Ashlyn is going to continue calling my dad, dad. I don't want anyone calling him that. Then his stupid wife is going to be all over him like the blood sucking leech she is.
Marcus laughs. "Well you could always come to England with me. You're welcome anytime," Marcus assures. I smile softly.
"I wish but my dad doesn't trust me alone yet," I confess. I know I'm 18 but my dad could pull me out of college with the snap of his fingers.
Ebony and Marcus nod. "Well I'm going to my parents' place. All calm, all fun. I have 7 siblings so I know it'll be a blast," Ebony says. I wish I had seven siblings.
I have one.
I had one.
"Must be nice," I mumble, feeling a bit envious.
Ebony laughs. "Well your new sister can keep your company," Marcus taunts. I glare at him, causing him to laugh with Ebony.
"I hate you both. What I want for Christmas is a bottle of liquor, a Santa hat and bikini," I ramble the first thing that comes to mind.
"Can I get a picture of that." Marcus raises his eyebrows up and down. I laugh throwing a cold fry at him. "I mean for my photography class," he adds.
I shake my head, a smile resting on my face. "Sure, sure." We stack our dishes before heading out. We begin walking back to my dorm. "What do you guys want to do now?" Today's been a slow day.
"I don't care," Marcus shrugs.
"We can just chill, hopefully Ashlyn isn't there," Ebony mutters. We reach my dormitory and climb up the three flights of stairs.
When I open the door, it's empty. "Home sweet home!" Marcus announces as he walks in. We all drop our bags and get comfortable. Marcus sits on top of my desk while Ebony takes a seat in my bean bag chair.
I jump straight onto my bed. "Yeah some home," I scoff. I stare at the ceiling above me.
"You guys want to play a talking game or something?" Ebony asks.
"Sure?" Marcus agrees. I hold up my thumb in the air.
As Ebony is about to speak the door flies open. "Greattt," I mutter under my breath as I continue to stare at the fueling.
"Not happy to see me hot stuff." My head snaps to the door when I don't hear Ashlyn's voice. Owen walks in first. Eli and Ashlyn trailing behind but Eli's arm is over her shoulders as he talks to her.
As soon as his eyes connect with mine he drops his arm and stops talking. They all walk in closing the door. Ebony rolls her eyes annoyed.
Ashlyn walks to the middle of the room and spins around. She looks a little too happy. "Guess what?! Eli and I are officially back on!" Ashlyn announces.
I'm biting my tongue so hard. "What?" I ask, confused. I thought Eli hated her. Well, I assumed.
"We are back together," she says.
Marcus claps his hands together, getting off the desk. All our attention turns to him. "Well, good day." He leaves without saying another word.
I look at Ebony who has an apologetic smile on her face. "That's cool." Is the only thing I could think to say. I don't care, I don't think.
