You are my comfort zone
-River Mitchell

"Stop staring at yourself. You look beautiful," Ebony assures me as I look in the mirror.

"I don't know. Is this not casual enough or too casual? Should I have gone with a skirt? Or dress?" I ask. Eli was not helpful when I asked what I should wear. He told me I'll look beautiful in anything. I kept pushing and then he said nothing fancy and more casual.

So I'm not wearing anything fancy. I'm wearing jeans which are casual and a black corset with chains for straps. My heart races when I hear a knock at the door.

"He's here. Okay, how do I look?" I ask Ebony.

"Beautiful."

I smile before grabbing my bag and walking to the door. I open it up to see Eli standing in the doorway. He's wearing a plain white t-shirt, his chain hanging from his neck, a black blazer and black pants. And he looks hot.

My eyes shoot down to the bouquet of flowers in his hand. "For you beautiful." He holds them out to me.

"Stay here." I take the bouquet of flowers and walk back inside to show Ebony. Her face lights up in excitement. "Put these in water," I whisper and toss them to her.

She nods before I walk back over to the door. "Who's in there?" Eli asks.

"No one," I lie with a smile.

"Hey Ebony!" Eli shouts.

I hear a nervous laugh come from inside the room. "Hi Eli! Take good care of her, wouldn't want to have to accidentally cut off your dick!" She shouts back.

"I will!" Eli yells as he takes my hand in his. He leads me outside to his car. He opens my door for me like a gentleman and I smile in thanks before sitting down.

"So? Where are we going?" I ask as he sits down.

He begins driving. "My place for dinner. Then a surprise later," he says.

"Don't tell me you're cooking," I banter. His eyes flicker between me and the road.

"You'll just have to see."

"Jordan and Owen are gone. Not for the night but for a couple of hours," he informs as he unlocks the door. He pushes open the door and leads me inside.

I'm glad. It's not that I don't like Jordan, I just want alone time with Eli. But I hate Owen. A lot.

We walk into his kitchen where groceries are spread across the counter. "We are cooking your favourite meal. Together," he says. I bite my lip but my smile still rises.

He begins going through the ingredients. "I got lettuce, chicken thighs, Parmesan, fettuccine..." he continues going through everything. And it's a lot more than we need.

I wrap my arms around his neck and kiss his lips. "This is amazing. Let's start," I say. He pecks my lips before I let go of him.

He grabs the lettuce to begin making the salad while I start with the chicken. He connects his phone to the speaker playing music as we cook, dance and laugh.

As I cut up garlic a pair of arms wrap over mine from behind and a head dips down to my neck. "What're you doing?" I laugh as he makes it harder for me to cut.
