See the dark side before deciding to party with the King -Elijah Chambers
"Have a good weekend everyone!" Professor Smith dismisses us. And may I say fina-fucking-ly! He always spends the next twenty minutes talking after class has ended. Most people stay because it's when he tells us the most important information.
I quickly clean up my belongings before walking out into the hall where Ebony is waiting for me. "Party tonight! And you're coming." She links her arm with mine and we begin walking.
"I don't know Eb, who's going to be there?" I ask. Today was the last day of classes. Which means winter break has finally begun!
We push open the doors walking outside. The hot sun sends warm kisses to my skin. A perk about moving across the country down south. If I was back home, I would be freezing my ass off right now.
"It's not as big as the last but still a lot. Including the football team," she mumbles. I groan not wanting to see the football team. Why? Because of Owen and Eli. "It'll be fun. We'll avoid them the whole night."
I think about it for a second. I'm going for my friends and myself, not anyone else. "I'm in." The last party before I go to my dad's and I won't have to worry about running into Eli or Owen.
It doesn't take long before we reach Ebony's dorm. We've been spending more time here than at mine. Eli, Owen and Ashlyn are there all the time. Of course I can't kick them out. I wish.
And as always when I walk in Eli becomes a mute. Every. Single. Time. Owen and Ashlyn talk a lot, and I mean a lot. Not in a friendly way either, flirting. Right in front of Eli.
"Here catch!" Ebony tosses me a Santa hat. I hold it up as my face twists in confusion. "It's a hat party and since it's Christmas I thought a Christmas theme would be fun," she explains.
I nod, placing the hat on my head and twirl around. "How do I look?" I joke. Ebony blows me a huge kiss. "Like perfection," she says.
I laugh, taking the hat off my head and hold it under my arm. "I'll see you and Marcus tonight. I'm going to head to my dorm to get changed," I inform. Ebony nods and I leave.
My dormitory is only a seven minute walk from hers. And in this weather, I don't mind walking it. When I open the door Eli is sitting on Ashlyn's bed while Ashlyn is nowhere in sight.
"Where's Ashlyn?" I toss my Santa hat on my bed before opening up my drawers.
"Showering. How's it going?" He asks. I snort, shaking my head.
"Wouldn't you like to know," I mutter. I take out all my red clothing items and toss them on my bed. I need something to match my Santa hat.
I spin around on my heels and almost jump, not realizing Eli is right in front of me. I didn't even hear him get off the bed. "I want you to listen to this?" He holds up a folded piece of paper in his hand.
I shake my head. "Eli, I don't want to listen to anything associated with you. Meaning given by you, too," I add. He waves the paper around my face annoyingly.
I roll my eyes and take it. I unfold the paper. They're printed song lyrics. Acquainted by The Weeknd. Except he's highlighted lines and crossed out and rewrote in his own words.
I look up at him confused. "Just listen to the song. Please," he begs, moving closer. I place my hand on his chest stopping him from coming any closer. I look over his face, twice.
