Push me back, I'll pull you with me.
Me and you forever -Elijah Chambers

I groan moving around as I feel the bed dip. "Shhh." Arms wrap around my body, a warm heat radiating onto my back. I move, turning around as my eyes flicker open.

"Hi baby," Eli whispers.

My arms immediately wrap around his waist and he shifts onto his back. I lay my head onto his shoulder wanting to get closer.

He wraps his arms around me and kisses the top of my forehead. "Go back to sleep," he says. I shake my head against his chest.

"I wasn't having a good dream," I confess.

"What were you dreaming about?" He asks.

I shrug. "My home I quite miss. Up in the stars. The brightest ones." I reach into my shirt pulling out the locket. I open it up. "It's my fault they're dead and I regret it everyday."

"I don't believe that," he mumbles.

I nod. "It's true, I killed them. You know you shouldn't hang out with me. I could end up killing you too." I look up at him.

He laughs but I'm not joking. "I'm actually serious. I killed them both." He shakes his head in disbelief.

"You couldn't hurt me if you tried, Princess."

"Maybe I could," I mumble.

"Did you kill them on purpose?" He asks.

"Not exactly," I murmur. I move around and sit up, straddling him. He lays under me, a small smile playing on his face.

He reaches out, running his thumb over my cheek. My cheek wets as my tears spread. I didn't even notice I was crying. "How would you not know?" He says gently.

"You know Trigger is coming out with a new book soon. Blood Runs Deep part 2. Excited?" I ask as I wiggle my shoulders.

He shifts under me until he's sitting up. "Don't change the subject." He leans his back against the wall staring at me.

"I'm serious. Blood Runs Deep Two!" I say excitedly.

"I know, I know. Back to your sister and mom," he switches back the subject.

I take in a deep breath. "Promise not to leave me if I tell you," I mumble under my breath. I look down while playing with my fingers.

A forehead connects with mine and my eyes slowly glide up to his. He presses his lips against mine slowly moving them. The mint taste on his breath, faint but present.

He moves back slightly. "Never River. I told you I mean it when I say me and you forever. I'm not going back on my word. I promise to never leave you," he promises.

I kiss him back. "Good because I can't do this without you," I whisper against his soft lips.

He chuckles lightly. "Sure you can babe. Even without me promise me you'll keep going," he says. His hands grip my waist pulling me against him.

"Eli-"

"Promise me you'll keep going no matter what. With or without me. Promise me you won't stop. Not until you're grey and old while we live in a house with a wrap around porch, big yard and porch swing thinking about our grandchildren."

My arms wrap around his neck. "Okay, I promise," I swear. I've never been good at keeping promises but for Eli, I think I can do it.

"Now, your victims," he says, pulling away. He leans back against the wall.
