Chapter 30 Winter Olympics 2014 PART II

No matter how well I describe my movements, the person who sees it can never feel what I feel. I was flying on the ice. It was just me and the ice. I heard this beautiful music flow through my ears and remembered the following step. The starting was just fine. I skated as fast as I could and then prepared myself for the double axel jump. I wanted to go for the triple axel jump but Ms. Kiera forbade me to do it. She said we’ve gotta be on the safer and cleaner side in order to win this. She wasn’t sure I was prepared enough for the big move. But I knew I was ready.

“Here comes the axel jump” The commentators were commenting.

I went for the triple axel jump and came out clean. Then I went for the triple jump connecting my before jump. The audience roared.

“Wow! The start I must say! Incredible!”

I know Ms. Kiera wouldn’t like it. But never mind. I was having fun. It was as if this thing was what I was meant to do since I came to this world. I did it so effortlessly even after all these years of no practice. I skated gracefully as the music changed its pace. I danced to its rhythm. Next was the double jump and triple jump combination. I pulled that off neatly as well. I didn’t leave any requirements. I was going for the big thing! I could do it so neatly so why should I hold back my talent.

“She’s got some moves…”

I skated around the rink. Then I went for the flying spin and the layback spin. I bent down and performed the spin combination with one change foot. I skated again smiling at the judges and the audience. I looked at Aaron who was cheering for me. I did the serpentine spin sequence for the last part. I spun around for the last few seconds and then came to a hault with my hand in the air as if claiming victory.

“It was a magical program. That’s Lizzie Scarlet from Great Britain!”

The audience was clapping for me. I was feeling so overwhelmed. I skated back to Ms. Kiera and hugged her. Aaron hugged me then. We walked over to the kiss and cry awaiting my results.

“I asked you not to pull that off but anyways lovely performance kid!” Kiera told me.

I was breathless so I just laughed. The camera men were taking our footage. I looked around everywhere. There were so many people here who came to watch us skate. It felt so amazing.

“So, now the score” They started, “Lizzie Scarlet has received a score of 76.73”
