Chapter 20 Guy Fawkes’ Night

“I’ll make you a deal” She said as I stood in her house. Crystal looked back at me with a grin on her face as she walked towards me, “I know you must be thinking I am helping you without expecting anything in return. But well, you and I both know why I’m doing this. Still, if you want it to look that way, I’ll make you a deal. I’ll teach you to skate flawlessly. And in return I want you to knock Casey out of this competition. Deal?”

“Deal” I breathe.

“Cool, hop in” She says gesturing me to follow her.

I never thought I would be meeting Crystal in her own villa where she has her own ice rink. She must be something. I made sure to ask her if her coach would keep visiting this place and she dropped the topic saying he’s never been here. I was relieved, like seriously relieved.

After last night’s events, I have been really careful on where I went. I made sure I wasn’t alone at home so I decided I would spend this weekend at everyone’s place. My mother’s business has taken a quick route towards high returns so she is practically giving up all her time to expand it. I hope she’s successful with whatever project she’s dealing with at the moment. She also let me know she was with one of her friends who helped her with the project. She mentioned he was a guy so I wondered if she was spending nights at his house. She’s barely home anyways, so I was forced to think that way.

Oh, only if she knew what is happening around me.

I haven’t told any of this to Aaron. I told him that I had a really bad nightmare about my dead father and that’s why I acted why I acted that way last night. He seemed to understand it and told me it was fine and my reaction was justifiable. He acted gentleman enough and didn’t step on the bed while I was lying on it. I did offer him to sit up but he refused. When I frowned, he joked that he’s scared I would pounce on him because he’s just…irresistible. I chuckled. I promised to call him if I needed anything. He left the house after preparing some breakfast me at 11 a.m.

It’s 1 in the afternoon. It’s still too cold. I had my jacket put on. My bag had some money and my skates. That’s it. I walked where Crystal took me and was bewildered to look at the beautiful place. The ice was smooth and it literally screamed for me to come and slide on it. I dropped my bag on the seat on my left and took my skates out.

“Alright, get ready, I’ll be back in 2” She said as she turns around and walks away.

I sit back down and get my shoes off. I replace them with my favourite ice skates. They are black and blue in colour. They are the new skates that just came in the market and I had to purchase it because they were so adorable. I could fly easily on these skates too. It just took me about a week to get clean on this skates. New skates mean you would probably hurt your leg if you go figure in full swing.

“Ready?” Crystal asks as she comes back in her sweatshirt and tight pants. She has her skates in her hands and she doesn’t waste any minute to put them on. She walks into the rink and gestures me to hurry. I am just so excited.
