Chapter 28 Casey
He aimed the gun at Aaron who wasn’t paying attention to it. Words didn’t come out of mouth as I struggled. “You should never ever leave your guards down” Willy said before pulling the trigger. I screamed at the top of my lungs. His eyes glimmered and they seemed as lively as ever. They weren’t a shade of dull. That only meant he wanted so desperately to live. It was like a Déjà vu. I didn’t want him to die right now because of me. I couldn’t, I just couldn’t stand the sight. He couldn’t die, not now not today. I was late.
But then, a miracle happened.
And this one was way too shocking to be true. Honestly, it felt like one of those moments in a movie which brings out a sudden twist in the story. Pretty cliché. But…yes this was exactly such moment though I wasn’t sure if it was the end.
“Casey!” I shouted, “What…why! Call the ambulance!” I ran to get her. Aaron got down first and took her in his arms. He dialed the ambulance first and even contacted the police. My fingers tangled in my hair as I pulled them a little out of all the frustration. NOW WAY IN HELL! WHY NOW? WHY…
Aaron was speechless at the moment. He put his hand on Casey’s cheek. No matter how bad one could be, if they are your childhood friends, they mean a lot more to you then you think they do. I stole a glance at Aaron’s glossy eyes.
“Why would you do it for me?” He asked, softly.
The pain was overwhelming. My heart ached. The tears smeared my face, and I couldn’t stop them from shedding. My eyes were itchy from all the tears that had accumulated. Maybe it was the dust in the air. I rubbed my eyes as I sobbed softly.
Casey just smiled. She opened her mouth, urging to tell him something.
“Stay calm, Casey. Don’t try to speak, please” I told her. She obeyed as she closed her eyes shut, peacefully. She was still breathing. I thanked God for it. We might not have time but I really hope she’ll be saved.
“Oh no, YOU DON’T!” I heard Crystal’s voice. I had almost forgotten about them. I got on my feet once again and turned around to face the ruthless killer. Oh, he wasn’t getting any mercy from me. Not anymore.
Crystal hit his hand with her legs as she freed open from his grip. All of this had left Willy startled too which turned out in Crystal’s favor. She used that little span of time to get out of his grip and kick him hardly in the gut.
“OUCH! You bitch!” He cried in pain. He was still holding the gun in his hand. “I can make it nice and easy for you and it won’t take much time too. I am aware that the police is on their way” He took the gun in the position once again and tried to pull the trigger.
