Chapter 14: Under Black Light

We were sitting in the living room after our laughing fit, trying to find something fun for us all to do. Nikki had suggested going to the movies while Aspen suggested that we go to Hot Topic. I would usually go for bothof those options but today I wanted to do something different. I gasped as the perfect plan hit me.

"Glow in the dark bowling!"

They seemed to think it over and I watched as the smiles grew on their faces.

"Hell yeah! I love glow in the dark shit!"

Aspen and I have always loved glow in the dark stuff. It's one of the many things we have in common. Nikki cheered in agreement and aised her hand for a fist bump. Laughing, I bumped my fist to hers and we got up and got into Aspen's Jeep.

I rolled down my window as we drove to the bowling ally, not really caring about the wind blowing my hair. The cool breeze was welcomed on my face as I popped the AUX cord into my phone and played the song Something's Gotta Give by All Time Low. This song is freakin awesome!

I couldn't help but smile as we all began to sing along. We sang and laughed the whole way to the ally and took goofie selfies. As soon as we pulled into the parking lot I jumped out of the car and ran to the door, Nikki and Aspen laughing as they followed.

A bell dinged as I pushed the door opened. The contrast between the brightness of outside and the darkness inside was so cool. A man in his late 30's lifted his head from the shoes he was cleaning as we walked up to the counter where you pay. He gave us a genuine smile and he pushed the shoes aside.

"Hello and welcome to Black Light Bowlerama, what can I get for ya?"

We each told him our shoe sizes and the man, who's name tag read John, handed us our shoes and told us we were using lane 2. We thanked him and went to put our shoes on. This is my least favourite part about bowling and it seemed Nikki agreed.

"I don't even want to think about how many other people's feet have been in these shoes."

Aspen and I chuckled. When we had the shoes on we walked down to the second last lane. I set my converse and my bag down then turned to look at the colourful glowing balls. Heheh balls. Anyways, i went to reach for the blue one when I felt my hand get slapped away by Aspen.

"I don't think so Ry, blue is my colour."

"Who the hell told you that?! I want the blue ball!"

"Too bad babe, you can have the pink one."

He smirked, knowing how much I don't like the colour pink. I glared at his as I went to reply, but before I could I was quickly interupted.

"Neither of you get the blue ball because I have it!"

Aspen and I gaped at the now smirking Nikki as she proudly held the blue bowling ball like it was a golden trophy. She must have swiped it while we were arguing, sneaky bitch! She laughed at our shocked faces and told us to grab a ball.

After I picked the green one ( forcing Aspen to get the pink one) we proceeded to bowl. After an hour of bowling, curse words, and mothers telling us to 'watch our mouths' our game had finished with Aspen being the winner. Nikki and I pouted then smiled as he offered to buy us frozen yogurt to 'cheer us up'.

When we had gotten and eaten our fro-yo (yes I said it!) we decided to go to Hot Topic in the mall. Getting to the mall and walking in we made our way to the store. On the way I felt the need to go to the batheroom.

"Hey guys, I'll meet you at the store. I just have to go to the bathroom."

They nodded and continued on their way as I turned and made my way to the washrooms. Oh how I wish I knew the mistake I was about to make.
