We drove for another 5 minutes until he pulled up just outside a driveway. Confused I looked over to try and see where we are but a giant freaking tree was in the way.
"Where are we?"
Aspen chuckled at me and then handed me his black and white bandanna. I gave him a skeptical glance, which only caused him to laugh.
"Just put it on, it's a really BIG thing that I have to show you."
Sighing I took the bandanna and got out of the car. He had better help me walk. Aspen also got out and came around to guide me after he tied the bandanna over my eyes. About 2 minutes later I felt him pull me to a stop.
"Can I look now?"
"Yes you can look now."
I looked up as I took my blind fold off and saw a smaller 2 story house. The house was white with a front porch and a dark brown door. I turned back to Aspen.
"What is this place, why are we here?"
"I finally saved up enough money to buy my own house! I wanted to show you before you kindly agreed to help me move in?"
He asked the last part in a sweet voice while wildly batting his eyes, causing me to bend over laughing.
"Well since you asked sooo nicely.....I guess I could help you unpack."
"See! I knew you loved me."
He chuckled as he lead me up the steps and in through the front door. The stacks of boxes everywhere was the first thing to catch my eye. The next was the can of Doctor Pepper Aspen was handing me. I quickly grabbed it and took a sip.
"You know I should really be in school right now."
He scoffed as he took a big sip of his Sprite.
"Right, because who wouldn't want to be in a place where they call you 'Emo Girl' instead of your real name?"
"School is still important..."
"Ryder there are such things as online schools or even night school! I've seen what they do to you, and you just let them."
"Whatever. Just drop it OK?"
"Fine. For now. Let's just start unpacking, you can unpack the bathroom stuff while I unpack my room. Then at least you can spend the night and I'll drive you to school before I go to work."
"Alright but you'll have to take me home to get some clothes and stuff."
He nodded as we went up the stairs. The house seemed bigger than it does on the outside. He led me to the bathroom and told me what room he was going to be in if I needed anything. I nodded and then got to work on the first box.
The first thing I saw when I opened the box was a pink bottle of strawberry scented shaving cream. I must of left it at his old apartment the last time I stayed over.
Aspen and I had sleepovers all the time. My mom never really cared because she knew he would take care of me. Not like anything bad ever happened while I was with him. Aspen always gave me his bed while he slept on the couch, no matter how many times I protested. He only ever slept with me if I had a nightmare.
Once I was done I headed over to Aspen's room to see how he was doing and to ask what he wanted me to do next. When I opened the door he was lying on his bed with his eyes closed and all of his stuff put away.
"You lazy ass! You could have started unpacking something else."
I giggled as I jumped on the bed beside him and poked his face.
"I know. But the bed was calling to me, and I couldn't be rude and ignore it."
I slapped his arm as he let out a chuckle that vibrated through his chest. I shook my head as he closed his eyes again.
"I don't wanna unpack anything else, it's boring!"
"You only unpacked one room!"
"And now I'm tired. Let's just lay here for a bit and then we'll unpack some more."
I nodded as I lied back and closed my eyes. The last thought I had before falling asleep was that this was probably the best way to spend a Monday.
