Chapter 18: Correction, Stupid Deaf Bitch

I made my way into the dreaded school building with my head down. I barely stepped through the door before the whispers assaulted my ears.

I heard she tried to kill herself
Too bad it didn't work
Next time she should just use a gun
Stupid Emo Girl

Quickly I walked past all of the people staring and headed for my locker. When I got there I saw that my locker had been beautifully decorated with words like cutter and bitch. The thing that stood out the most was the words 'Emo Girl' right in the center. They still don't know my name.

I was in my own little world until I was brought out by someone placing a hand on my shoulder. Turning I saw Niki reading the hateful messages displayed on the door of my locker with a look of anger filling her eyes.

"This is bullshit! None of these things are true Ry. Let's go get the principal, this is just ridiculous!"

She tugged on my arm to drag me along but I pulled her back.

"It's no use Niki. The principal is her uncle and he thinks she is an angel."

Before she could reply we were interrupted by non other than Anna and her pack of followers.

"Well hello there Emo Girl, do you like your locker? I think it suits you perfectly."

I glared at her while I wondered what I ever did to make her hate me so much. We used to be in the same group of friends back in elementary school.

"I think stupid bitch suits you perfectly."

I whipped my head up at stared at Niki with wide eyes. What the fuck is she doing?!

"What did you just say?!"

"Correction, stupid deaf bitch."

Anna's face reddened as she glared holes through Niki's head. She was beyond pissed. Before anyone could make a move I grabbed Niki's arm and ran down the halls. A few minutes later I had pulled her out one of the back doors and we were now standing on the football field.

"Why did you do that?!"

"I had to do something! I wasn't just going to stand there and watch them treat you like that! You need to stand up for yourself."

I sighed. She was right and I know it. The bell all of a sudden rang, telling us we were now late for class.

"Come on, we're late. We will talk about this at lunch and you are going to tell me everything."

I nodded in defeat and we went inside. We parted ways and I made my way to my first period class. The day hasn't even started and already I want to go home.
