"A party? Oh hell no"

Nora frowned, her blue eyes widening slightly. Aiden averted his gaze, refusing to fall for her puppy dog eyes.

He felt bad for straight out rejecting her, but he had already made up his mind.

Aiden and parties? Those were two things that weren't ever allowed to be in the same sentence. Ever.

"Oh cmon, don't be like that?"

Aiden sighed, his eyes focused on the dark sheets covering his bed.

Aiden hated parties. They were loud, annoying and overcrowded. It was like the biggest red flag in the history of red flags and every variation thereof.

Nora had been nagging on his head about this particular party happening three days from now since that morning. It was being thrown by a jock guy he was too lazy to learn the name of on their school's soccer team.

Parties were bad enough. But parties thrown by jocks? If that didn't raise Aiden's mental alarms then the fact that it was a "bring anyone and everyone" type of party sure as hell did.

What was with people and their willingness to socialize with everyone they ran into, anyway? It irked him. Or maybe he was just too much of an anti-social bastard to try and get out of his comfort zone every once in a while.

Rolling his shoulder, he turned to his friend, face impassive "I really don't feel like going to this party, Nora. Besides, it's thrown by whatever-the-fuck-his-name-is Adams. Isn't he like known for being an absolute party maniac?"

Nora opened her mouth to speak but Aiden cut her off "And doesn't something always go wrong at his parties? The guy is like disaster prone. Who says the party won't go to shit and we all end up guilty by association"

Nora rolled her blue eyes so hard, Aiden worried it would stay that way. "You're so dramatic. Live a little"

Aiden hummed, falling back onto his bed "I am. I'm living right now, am I not? Or am I a ghost and am just not aware of it?"

He heard Nora's little huff of frustration and knew she was moments away from giving up on asking him altogether
"Take that sarcasm and shove it up your ass"

"I would but doing that would take effort and effort takes energy"

"I hate you" Nora groaned. Aiden grinned lazily "love you too baby girl"

"You're so seriously not going?"

Aiden hummed low in his throat.

"Ugh whatever. I'm going to the more liked Frederick's twin since you're being such an ass"

Aiden closed his eyes, tone mocking "You're going to me while being with me? That doesn't make much sense Nora"

"Whatever! Bye!"

Aiden heard the sound of the footsteps retreating before his door was opened and closed. The brunette let out a sigh and turned on his side, eyelids slowly falling shut.

Thank god she gave up.

"Wanna hang out on Saturday?" Matias greeted him the next morning. The male leaned against the locker next to him.

He was so close that Aiden could smell the scent of his aftershave and that subtle cologne Matias seemed to like so much.

Aiden blinked, shrugging lightly as he met that blue eyed gaze.

It had been over a month since Aiden discovered his newfound feelings for the male and Aiden wasn't sure on how exactly he was to act around the guy.

Sure they still joked around like idiots (Matias more than the brunette), and constantly bickered. It was obvious they would. Matias had no clue about the feelings Aiden were harboring for him. And Aiden sure as hell wasn't a pussy to pull the "avoid the crush at all costs" card.

Things were the same. But they were also different. Different in the sense that whenever Matias was within close proximity of the brunette, all Aiden wanted to do was grab him by the face and kiss the living daylights out of him.

Now, friends weren't supposed to have the strong urge to kiss their friend, right?

Aiden wasn't sure how long he could keep playing the "just a friend, and definitely don't want to see you naked" facade he's been keeping up for the last month. If anything, he could feel his self control slowly but surely chipping away.

Aiden wasn't sure how he felt about the way time always seemed to slow down whenever he met Matias's gaze. Seconds felt like hours and his ability to breath seized to exist.

The feeling was odd. The way his heart always seemed to want to burst out of his chest whenever it beat at a fast pace had him feeling like he ran a marathon. It was like his mind and body weren't on the same level, struggling to find a middle ground, stuck between wanting to chill the fuck out and wanting to jump Matias.

Maybe Aiden was finally losing it. Maybe he was actually at the point of going insane. Because there was no fucking way he felt so much for another person, right? It was just so...intense. So...intimate.

It was fucking terrifying. But at the same time, it was exhilarating.

And he had no clue on what to do with himself because of it.

Aiden shrugged, shoving his hands in the pockets of his sweatpants "sure.where are we going?"

Matias smirked, a mischievous glint in his ocean blue eyes. "You'll see soon enough"
