"Hey, you didn't text or call me yesterday like you said you would. Did something happen?" Sunwoo clings onto my arm, pouting.
"Nothing happened. Sorry, Sunwoo. Sunghoon and I had a lot of work and when I got home I was really tired." I ruffle his hair.
"It's okay. I'm just glad you're safe." He smiles at me.
It was the next morning; Sunwoo and I just arrived at school, walking to our lockers. The guys were already there, as usual.
"Good morning, fuckers." Juyeon smacks Eric on the back of his head.
"Ow!! Jihyun! I missed you!" Eric hugs me tightly.
"Missed you too, Eric." I hug him back, then pull away.
"Jihyun, do you want to hang out after school?" Sunwoo asks me.
"Sure. Just meet me outside-" I get cut off.
"Jihyun?" A familiar but unfamiliar voice calls out my name.
I turn and see Soyeon, my old best friend since kindergarten.
"Soyeon?" Eric gasps.
"Soyeon." I gulp.
Soyeon and I did not end off on the best terms: she said she had to move because of family problems, which I understood.. but she left without a goodbye, and while she was gone, she had mouthed Eric and I. It's a surprise to see her here; for both me AND Eric.
"What are you doing here? It's been so long." Eric asks her.
"I'm back, I guess." Soyeon chuckles awkwardly.
I peek over at Sunwoo and see him completely staring at Soyeon, not taking his eyes off her. He was frozen in place, watching her every move.. as if he was captivated by her looks. Soyeon was definitely a pretty girl. She stole the attention from all guys. But.. this isn't the typical stare Sunwoo gives to girls.
I don't mean to be possessive, but he's looking at her as if she's a diamond. As if he just fell in love with her at first sight. I brush the jealous feeling I feel inside of me away.
"Wow, there sure is a lot of guys. Hi, I'm Soyeon." She waves to everyone, including Sunwoo.
"Hi.." the guys blandly respond, not sounding interested.
"What's your name?" She asks Sunwoo, looking at him with a flirty, but subtle smile.
"I'm Sunwoo. It's nice to meet you." They shake hands and I bawl my fists up; thankfully Sunwoo's hoodie was oversized on me, so my fists weren't noticeable.
It feels so wrong to be jealous, but I know I have a right to be. Sunwoo and I are a thing, not completely dating but we were getting there. We established that we belonged to each other.. but I think I'm just over thinking. I doubt it's anything. Maybe he's feeling nice today.
I trust Sunwoo. I know he's not going to do anything with her, I know he would never leave me like that. He promised me. I trust him.
Soyeon and Sunwoo began making conversation, excluding all of us. I clench my jaw tightly to prevent me from saying anything, and to save me from the moment, I hear Sunghoon's voice.
"Jihyun?" He calls out.
I look over; him and Jake were walking towards us. I try my best to smile and wave at them both.
"Good morning, Jihyun." Jake gives me a kind smile.
"Good morning Jake, and good morning Sunghoon." I ruffle Sunghoon's hair.
He gives me a shy smile and blushes a little.
"Hi, my name is Soyeon. What's your names?" She asks Jake and Sunghoon.
