KANG JIHYUN

Later that night, I was still on the sofa blankly staring at either the TV or the wall. I haven't moved since, my heart hurt every single time I tried to get up and do something because Sunwoo never left my mind.

It even hurts to think about him; how could I have been so foolish? I should've known he'd hurt me like the rest. I'm so stupid.

I hear keys jangle and the front door open, I knew it was Eric and didn't bother going over to him because my whole body felt like a heavy sack of potatoes that was weighing me down.

The front door slams closed and I hear it lock, then Eric breathes out loudly in frustration.

"Jihyun." Eric's voice sounds angry.

"Hmm?" I sit up on the sofa, and Eric walks his way over to me.

"Don't talk to Sunwoo again." He stares at me hard.

"I wasn't planning on it." I mutter.

"What did he say to you, Jihyun? What did he do? Tell me everything, tell me what happened."

"It doesn't matter anymore. I'm okay." I shake my head.

"Tell me what he said." His voice gets more stern and scary.

I've never seen Eric this mad before; last time I've seen him this mad was in 5th grade when some kids were bullying me.

"Eric, just drop it. I'm okay, really." I look at him with a bitter smile.

"He still has his shit here, right? He's not staying over here anymore. I'm not moving in with them anymore since he's going to be there." Eric sits on the floor in front of me, running his fingers through his blonde-blue hair in frustration.

"Eric, you don't have to go that far-"

"No, Jihyun! He said fucked up things about us, about you! You're my best friend, how can I let him talk to us like that? He wasn't even sorry, he didn't feel remorse. He genuinely meant everything he said to me."

"Don't ruin your friendship because of me." I sigh.

"You matter more to me than anything and anyone else in this world, Jihyun."

My heart suddenly flutters from his genuine response, something about the tone he used really made me feel flustered in a good way.

"Eric, you need to calm down and start thinking rationally."

"I've thought hard about it while going back to your house. There's no way in hell I can see his face again without wanting to punch it."

"Eric, maybe it's my fault..." I mumble. "You guys wouldn't be like this right now if it weren't for me."

"Nothing's your fault, Jihyun. Don't say that, my blood is already boiled."

"Are you sure you aren't moving in with them? You're going back to your parents' house?"

"I don't know where to go, I don't want to go back there." He sighs deeply.

"I wish you can live with me, but my brother's coming back and there's no extra bed." I frown.

"Don't worry about it, Jihyun." He gives me a half-genuine smile.

"Will you be okay back at your parents' house?" I frown, thinking about his past situations with his family.

"My sister left to go live with my aunt. It's only my dad and mom there, now." He scratches his head in frustration.

"If it makes you feel any better, I can ask Taehyun to move in with me in my room. We'll just put another bed in my room, so you can take his room." I suggest to him.

"Don't go through the hassle, Jihyun."

"He's coming home tomorrow, I'm sure he wouldn't mind it. He really likes you," I ruffle Eric's hair.

"Are you sure? It feels like too much to ask from you," Eric frowns.

"Or, maybe, you should go talk to Sunwoo like a mature teenager and fix things with him." I suggest to him.

"There's no way! I can't go back and see him again."

"Don't throw away your friendship because of me. I don't think I'll ever be able to forgive myself if you guys really stop being friends." I sigh.

"I just need to stay calm, first." He breathes out.

The doorbell rings and my heart drops down to my stomach, knowing it was Sunwoo. How was I going to let him in when they're both so angry? I don't want a fight to happen.

"Go get it." He mutters.

"It's Sunwoo," I whisper. "Please stay there."

"No promises." He sighs.

I stand up and open the front door to see no one other than the angry Sunwoo, looking at me with a furious expression as if I killed his cat: behind him was all of the other guys, looking as pale as ever.

"Can you move so I can get my shit?" Sunwoo spits out.

"Sunwoo." Sangyeon says in a strict voice.

"She's in the damn way! How am I supposed to get my stuff?"

"That's no way to talk to a girl." Younghoon sighs.

"Go get it, then." I step aside and he looks at me one more time, stomping all the way upstairs.

Few seconds later he comes back down with his backpack and glances at Eric staring straight at him.

"I hope you love birds have fun."

"Sunwoo, what the fuck is wrong with you? Are you this immature and childish? I get that you're mad, but acting immature and petty like this won't help you get anywhere." I lash out. "Grow the fuck up, Sunwoo."

"Jihyun, just leave it," Eric's figure stands behind me.

"How ironic, the boyfriend is standing up for her. Isn't that so cute?!"

"Say another word and I swear to god, I will knock you out." Eric deadpans.

"I'd like to see you try."
