UPON ENTERING THE APARTMENT with a key daniel had given her the day prior, she didn't immediately see the boy but when she found him in a practically empty room he was screwing her headboard she picked out yesterday.

"hey seavey." she greeted the boy, who turned around, sage taking notice of his toned chest which she tried not to stare at but he was shirtless staring back at her with his bright blue eyes so it was practically helpless.

"hey sage, you ready to start setting up?"

"yeah, so what're we doing first?"

after working for about three hours, they decided to take a break for lunch seeing as it was already past noon.

"what do you want? i'll pay."

"daniel, you paid for my stuff from ikea yesterday, let me pay."

"nope, what're you feeling like today?"

"you're already a pain in my ass, you know that." she giggled before taking his phone that was open with uber eats which she ordered what she wanted quickly.

"and ordered. it'll be here in a bit."

sage nodded, still trying not to stare at the boy who let her into his home but he was still shirtless, so how could she not?

"so tell me more about yourself, roomie." daniel said, bringing the girl out of her daze.

"well, i'm a social media influencer. i travel sometimes, not a lot it's just enough that i wouldn't ever have to worry about, you know? i love animals- i'm a dog person, guilty as charged. um, i have a youtube channel as well. my favourite colour is sadly sage green- how ironic."

"you're cute, wanna finish up your desk area while we wait."

"oh no i can do that myself, you don't need to help-"

all he did was take her hands, dragging her back to her bedroom and towards the built desk area that had a large mirror at the front for whenever she wanted to do her makeup or hair.

sitting on a rolley chair she bought yesterday, daniel stood behind her and while she put things inside she would sometimes look up and meet his eyes in the mirror.

soon enough the food was delivered and they were eating in the small living area and watching some random show on netflix he put on.

"you know, i thought you would've been a bitch." daniel commented finally, which made the girl turn her head quickly in surprise.

"why on earth would you assume that?"

"i don't know, i just thought that i would end up with a really bitchy roommate. but you're a sweet girl who honestly i don't know how i didn't meet you ever before."

"it's not like i'm zach's girlfriend. there wasn't ever a reason you guys had to meet me. besides, i'm just a friend to all of you, what more could i ask for?"

"do you like the new album by the way?" sage gave him a look of confusion, not understanding what he was even talking about. "wait, you never knew we released another album?"

"even if i'm friends with zach- i basically only listen to one direction so yeah, didn't really ever get around to listening to your music."

"well, looks like you're about to change the whole 'i only listen to one direction and nobody can stop me' phase because you're about to become a big fan of mine."

"sure, seavey. whatever helps you sleep at night."

"god you're annoying sometimes."
