AS THE BRUNETTE RIFFLED through her car, sighing in relief when she found the small keychain that manages to slip off her car keys earlier.
"what's up, kay?" she asked as she answered the incoming call from her younger sister.
"well, i took it upon myself and-"
"oh god, please tell me you aren't pregnant."
"no! not at all." kay said a bit in a rush, not wanting her sister to have the wrong idea of her. "so zach's best friend has an apartment with two bedroom, two bath, everything you would need."
"okay but like, what's the catch?"
"he's kind of, sort of living there?"
"kay, i'm not staying with a boy i don't know. i have the money for a place it's just the matter of finding the perfect one."
"i know, it's just i don't like you staying in a hotel for months and wasting your money. daniel said he would need the company so i'll text you the info-"
"kay, i swear to god you didn't say yes to this idea." sage interrupted, knowing she'd text her sister an apology later as she was just that kind of a person.
"i didn't, i said i'd have to talk to you first but please, at least meet the guy! he's a true sweetheart and you two would become great friends."
"i'll meet him, sure. but for now, the hotel awaits so is there anything else you need?"
"can you pick zach up from practice? i'll text you the address."
"yeah, yeah. remind me, why do i do things for you?"
"because you're the best! sent daniel's contact along with zach's location. thank you!"
"wait, where am i-"
the line was cut off as kay had hung up, sage huffing in annoyance before starting her keep once more, following the gps on her phone to the location to pick zach up from.

AFTER ABOUT FIFTEEN MINUTES later, zach finally came walking out, sage sitting there in the drivers seat blasting music.
"yo that's not kay?" jonah commented, utterly confused as to who the girl was.
"yeah i know. that's her older sister sage. the one that just moved into town?"
"isn't that the one daniel might be living with soon?"
"maybe? kay hasn't told me about that yet but probably will be. she's gonna need to actually talk to you beforehand though, daniel."
all five boys walked up to the drivers seat as another song came on and it was evident that the girl knew nothing about them coming over, her window luckily down so they actually heard her sing.
"sage!" zach hollered in the girl's ear which she instantly reached for the dial, turning the music down as a blush came to her face once she saw the five boys standing at her car.
"hi, sorry. you're slow, herron."
"yeah, yeah. come give me a proper hug- last time i saw you was five months ago." she rolled her eyes at the boy, turning off her keep before getting out and hugging her sister's boyfriend.
"you happy now?" sage questioned, a teasing tone in her voice that all of them caught, the group of boys chuckling as she bit her tongue to remain not laughing.
"anyways, this is jack, corbyn, jonah and daniel." zach introduced the brunette to all of his friends, sage nodding and following his finger when he directed what their name was.
"no offence but we didn't even know you existed." corbyn chuckled, sage nodding.
"yeah i'm not associated with my sister on instagram so people just haven't ever known me as a cook."
"right, well why is that though?"
instead of answering, all she did was pull up her phone and opening the instagram and showed them all her profile.
"oh why's your last name different?" daniel asked, sage shrugged as she slipped her phone back into her jeans back pocket.
"i had instagram since eighth grade, kind of just came up with a username that worked for me and i'm happy with it. all it was my first and middle name."
"sage ramirez?"
"wonderful, isn't it?"
"it's pretty." daniel replied.
"thank you. well herron, you ready to go?"
"what's this whole 'living with daniel' situation since you're both here?" zach asked, the other boys intrigued as well.
"well as you must've told kay my apartment is kinda boring without someone else living with me and i told her i was debating on looking for a roommate but kay suggested her sister and i was like, uh okay what's with that- i still don't know why you don't have a place."
"so i just moved back from vancouver, canada. i went for five months because i love it there. anyways, i just came back and since i wanna live by myself- which not literally i just don't wanna live at home with my family anymore. so yeah, kay literally asked me this morning."
"how was vancouver?"
"like a home i never knew i had. it's beautiful."
"please, you went in winter." zach scoffed, sage giggling and nodding.
"real snow for a long amount of time. can you blame me?"
"not when you freeze your ass off."
"i literally didn't ever freeze 'my ass off'. anyways, kay sent me over your contact, daniel so i'll text you later or tomorrow about this whole arrangement, okay?"
"yeah sure, it was nice meeting you."
"same to you along with these three, come on herron." getting back into her jeep, the friends set off for the day.
