"HEY DANIEL, HEY SHORTY!" zach greeted the couple who walked in, only the boys were shocked when they saw their interlocked fingers as daniel's arm was wrapped around her shoulders and sage's hand bending up to hold his warm hands.

one thing sage always adored about daniel was how warm he always was. he would keep her warm at night and day, her being the colder individual she was, she appreciated having a boyfriend who would warm up her heart along with her skin.

"wait, you two are finally together?" corbyn asked, the couple nodding with smiles on their faces.

"bullshit- why didn't kay tell me?" zach whined, fakingly angry with his girlfriend who didn't fill him in on the latest information on the roommates.

"you're a big baby." sage shrugged, shaking her head as she pulled away from daniel to go hug the other boys, which only made him pout slightly until she came back to him, sitting down in one of the chairs together.

"you should show them your song." she told him quietly, jonah being close enough to hear them.

"what song?" jonah asked, confusion written across his face as daniel simply handed over his notebook that had pages filled with either completed songs, mismatched lyrics or songs that weren't finished but were decent enough that the boys would actually enjoy to continue writing.

"it's without you." sage informed, watching the oldest flip through the pages, skimming them to see which one she was talking about.

"it's not that good-"

"it's good if you sang it to your girlfriend." jack snorted in reply, daniel burying his head into sage's shoulder which made her bite back a laugh.

"daniel, this sounds amazing." jonah commented, finally finding the song and reading what the younger boy had written down already.

"we all know his inspiration now at least." corbyn laughed, sage blushing as she waved him off.

"yeah yeah, you can work with this song- i saw a starbucks like five doors down so i'm gonna go get some, y'all want anything?"

"babe i could've taken you-"

"nope, none of that. you boys work with your instruments and talent- i shall be back. text me your orders!"

she hoped that her leaving them alone would help them a bit, wandering down to the starbucks not too far away.

"sage?" someone asked, the brunette turning around only to see an old friend of hers.

"hi marcus, what's up?"

"you moved back?"

"obviously."

"do you maybe wanna catch dinner tonight with me- you know to catch up?"

"no sorry, i have plans with my boyfriend and his friends. maybe if we run into each other again-"

"you have a boyfriend? that's a surprise."

"excuse me?"

"i just don't get what he sees in you for long term because i'd only want you for your body and leave."

"he likes me for being myself and certainly for not listening to your bullshit constantly."

"you must be delusional."

"order for sage?" a barista hollered out, searching the small area only for her to leave marcus in the dust, not wanting to talk to the boy any longer.

"he only wants you for your body, greenie." marcus mumbled in her ear once he caught her arm as she had to walk by him to leave the store.

letting go of the brunette, she scurried back to the building, instantly going to the boys' studio.

once daniel saw her face, everything went blank for what he originally was just talking about with the boys.

"baby what happened?"

"my old friend he told me that you would only want me for my body because i'm worth nothing otherwise." she cried softly into his chest, wishing the boys didn't have to witness this but zach at least knows a few of her old friends.

"which asshole was it?" zach questioned, caring for her because she was practically family to her at this rate.

"marcus." sage mumbled, zach and daniel both catching it.

"how did the whole relationship thing come up?" daniel asked, her shrugging.

"he asked me if i wanted to go out on a date with him and i said i had plans with my boyfriend and his friends- obviously all five of you -and then he decided to go off at me and tell me that you only want to have sex with me and then ditch me. he doesn't know you, i get that it's just hard hearing that."

"baby." daniel sighed, pulling her even tighter into his chest as he felt guilty for not going with her to the starbucks.

"here's your sandwich by the way corbs." she sniffed, handing him the baggy which he thanked the sad girl for, quietly munching away at his new found snack.

"keep your head up, i promise you that i won't ever use you like that. just remember that i'll never be that type of guy. just like you said- he doesn't know me. he doesn't know how much i care about you."

"hate to break up this cute moment right now, but i just got an idea for your song." daniel pulled away from his girlfriend, giving her a soft smile before kissing her forehead and sitting down in his chair again.

sage waited for hours, playing on her phone before they all were finally finished for the day.

"did you have fun today?"

"not really at the beginning but mostly i did, yeah." she grinned, daniel opening her side of the car door for the brunette which let her slide right inside.

"i won't even have sex with you until we both agree that it's the right timing by the way."

"i know, dani. i know you'll take care of me."

"good, wanna cuddle when we get home?"

"i don't think that's even a question at this point."
