"I DON'T REGULARLY LIKE this kind of pizza but it's actually delicious." sage commented, taking another bite out of the slice she held in her hands.
"good thing i'm making you try new things." daniel chuckled, kissing her cheek from behind, seeing as she was laying on him.
"can i tell you something?"
"sure, what is it?"
"i love you." she admitted, a small blush on her face as she sat up, turning so she could look at the boy. "and it's okay if you're not ready to say it yet, i just have been feeling like this for a little while so i wanted to tell you."
"i'm not ready yet." he replied quickly, sage giving him a questioning look that faded quickly as she got situated once more against him.
and the feeling daniel was getting in that moment, he was glad she couldn't see his face because it was laced with guilt.
