Harry.
You’re here. I’m here. Why? My answer hadn’t been a lie. There wasn’t anywhere else I would have rather been. My feelings though…they were starting to scare me, more so than normal because these thoughts and possibilities had begun crossing my mind. Thoughts and possibilities I’d never even imagined had suddenly started circulating inside my head. Thoughts about her. Thoughts and possibilities that weren’t okay for her best friend to be thinking about. Why did I have to be me. Harry Styles was such a big deal. Too big of a deal. Nadine and Harry were good. Hallie was my best friend. Things were…normal. Or as normal as they could be with me being me. I couldn’t afford these feelings. She didn’t deserve to be put in that spotlight. As she lay there though, eyes shut, her breathing shallow…I couldn’t help but imagine a world where we were just…Harry and Hallie. A world where I could walk around and hold her hand…kiss her lips…tell her how seriously pretty she was. Tell her how bloody lucky I was to call her mine. As I looked at her, I smiled because I was lucky she was in my life. I had this girl and she loved me and trusted me and she called me her best friend. I wanted more, I knew that now, but if this was all I could have…I’d cherish it. I’d appreciate it because I was lucky. I was. Before standing up, I tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear and pressed my lips softly against her forehead. I walked around the apartment and turned off each light, locked up. Then I laid back down on the pull-out couch and I closed my eyes. I didn’t sleep though. I couldn’t, really.

Hallie.
“So right here…” I squirmed underneath his grip.
“Mhm…”
“And…here?” Wet lips trailed down my collarbone and the goosebumps were everywhere on the surface of my skin.
“Oh…”
“But…definitely here, yeah?” His warm fingertips made their way up the inside of my t-shirt and I shuddered. The goosebumps though, they disappeared as quickly they had come because his hands were attacking me, tickling every inch of my tummy and I was a pile of wriggly giggles by the time he finished. A soft kiss was placed against my temple as we settled into a spoon position.
“I bruise easily, so thank you very much.” Harry had learned that the hard way when a big purple mark appeared underneath my ribs after one simple poke. Adam just hummed, callused hands then rubbed softly against my skin, in an attempt to make me feel better. Lips met my shoulder before I sat up and connected our hands.
“I’m sorry…” He moved his hand around and then pulled my vibrating phone out from under him. “Your other boyfriend is calling.” I groaned. Harry had called three times this morning and I’d ignored each one.
“Yes, Styles?”
“Beach?”
“No.”
“Whhhhy?”
“First off, don’t whine, big baby. Second, I have plans.”
“With him?”
“Mhm.”
“Is he there?”
“Mhm…”
“Tell ‘im to go away.”
“You…are an idiot.” I couldn’t help but laugh at my sad excuse for a best friend.
“M’not…you’re just lyin’”
“Not lying. Have you even looked in the mirror lately? A big whiny baby idiot is what you’ll see.”
“Don’t be cruel.”
“Where’s Nadine?”
“Dunno…Paris or somethin’.”
“Oh.”
“Yeah. S’a bit lonely, is what it is.”
“Bub, you have plenty of friends here. Go see Cal…and isn’t Louis around?”
“I think, yeah.”
“Then go see him.”
“He’s with Eleanor though.”
“Harry…”
“Fine, fine. I’ll stop botherin’ you.”
“Harry, you’re not. You never bother me. Don’t be dramatic.”
“Are you gonna be with him all day?”
“Um…I don’t know…probably not.”
“The drive-in is open tonight…Blue Lagoon is playing.”
“A Blue Lagoon movie is playing at the drive-in, what? Which one?”
“The one you like…with Milla Jovovich.”
“Return To The Blue Lagoon?”
“I think…yeah, yeah, that one.”
“Oh sick…I can’t believe they’re playing that one, they always play the first one!”
“Figured we could go? Just us, if ya catch my drift…”
“Hmm…yeah, it’s caught.”
“So, I’ll see you at seven then?” I could hear him smiling on the other end.
“Yeah, fine. Seven’s good.”
“Meet at your’s, we’ll take Joni?”
“Sounds like a plan, dude.”
“Toodaloo, Halle Berry.”
“Bye, bye, Harry Lloyd.”
“He’s not even that attractive.”
“Have you seen him or are you perpetually blind?”
“Perpetually blind, I reckon.”
“Oh my god. Go away.”
“See ya’s in a bit, lovely.” He laughed and I hung up the phone. Adam looked up at me from the frays in my t-shirt that his fingers had been busying themselves with.
“So, I take it I don’t get to have my girlfriend to myself tonight?” There was humor in his tone, but I could sense a bit of frustration, and I understood it. Harry had become…needy since Adam and I made things more official. He’d been calling, texting and stopping by more…but it was also because he and Nadine were on the outs. Not doing so well, really.
“I’m sorry…it’s just…he leaves for tour next Saturday and this is the longest one yet. We’re just trying to get in our pal time.”
“Pal time?”
“Harry’s definition of our hanging out.” I shook my head, laughing. Dork has rubbed off on me.
“Ah, I see.” A kiss was delivered to my knuckles and I laid back down, my front side flattening against his. “But you’re mine for now, right?”
“A hundred percent your's, yes.” He rolled us both over and our mid-day sexcapades began.
