When you woke the next morning, you realized you weren't in your bed. Nor your room. And there was a cold mass laying next to you. The moment your heart started racing was the moment the lump under the blanket started to move. You immediately shut your eyes, pretending to be asleep before a tired giggle reached your ears and caused your heart to skip a beat. A cold arm wrapped around your waist and pulled you towards the body, your entire body tensing when you felt cold lips pressed against your ear.

"I know you're awake," Bela whispered, sending a shiver down your spine. "Tell me... were you jealous?"

Your eyes slowly opened at her question, a frown on your face as you thought about her new maid. Turning your head away from her made her giggle more and bury her face against your neck. "You were!"

You tried to slink out of her hold but her grip simply tightened on you, locking you in place and pulling your back flush against her chest. She placed soft kisses on your shoulder, letting out a low hum as she breathed in your scent. You wanted to push her away — to go back to your room and cry — but you didn't. You couldn't and you knew if you could, you still wouldn't.

"Why...?" You asked softly, not caring that your voice cracked.

Her kisses stopped at your voice cracking, immediately turning you around to look at her. When she saw the tears threatening to spill and your still tearstained cheeks, her smile fell. Pressing a quick and gentle kiss to your lips, a soft sigh left the vampire.

"I wanted to know if both of our feelings were real," She muttered, rubbing your side gently. "When the new maid came, it was the perfect opportunity. I never did anything with her, not like what we used to do. Last night proved it to me — that both of us are serious about our feelings. I was scared I was the one faking them the whole time, and in not wanting to hurt you in the long run — I ended up hurting you now. I'm sorry."
