Last Part; 'Did she just kiss me?'

Two Weeks Later

You had spent the last two weeks trying to get at least five minutes alone with lady Cassandra, but that never happened. It was as if she was avoiding you and it hurt you more than you thought it would. Your mind began wandering as you cleaned the atelier, not bothering to acknowledge the flustered buzzing that sounded behind you.

When you didn't react, the buzzing got angrier before you were whirled around. The knife you were cleaning was ripped from your hand, making you glance up and lock eyes with the brunette that had been avoiding you for two weeks. Her eyes narrowed at you before she let out a low sigh, setting the knife down and taking a deep breath. You noticed how anxious she was, slowly becoming less upset with her.

"I... I should explain..."

"No shit," You blurted out before covering your mouth. "I... I didn't—."

"No, you have every right to be angry after these last two weeks," Lady Cassandra muttered as she began fidgeting with her gloves. "...Can... Can I explain it over dinner?"

"Are you asking me on a date?"

"Can we not call it that?"

'Odd...'

"Whatever makes you comfortable," You whispered despite being a little upset that you were being forced to wait longer for an answer.

"I-I am sorry about everything. I'll make it up to you, I promise."

"I'm holding you to that."

Lady Cassandra nodded before leaving you alone to continue cleaning. After you finished cleaning, you met up with Isa to help prepare lunch, taking note of how often they glanced at you. Once you finished making the food and setting everything on the cart, Isa grabbed your wrist and pulled you through the halls, only stopping once they reached their room and pulled you inside.

"You're hiding something."

"...How-?"

"Don't question it," Isa sighed as they shut their door. "Now, what are you hiding?"

"...I'm pretty sure lady Cassandra kissed me two weeks ago," You whispered and looked away from their shocked face. "But she's been avoiding me since then... She did ask me on a... To dinner so she can explain everything."

"So it's a date?" Isa inquired with a soft tone.

"She... doesn't want to call it that... I think she's afraid to admit that's what it will be."

"Dani was the same way for a while. The Dimitrescus haven't felt these emotions in a while, lady Cassandra isn't the best at expressing these types of emotions. You'll have to be patient and set boundaries. She will respect them."

"I-I know," You sighed before leaning against the wall. "I just... I wish I didn't have to wait to learn why she avoided me for so long."

"I'm sure there's a good reason," Isa promised before sending you a smile. "She was probably working through her emotions and didn't realize how much it would hurt you. That's just a—."
