You'd never heard those three words before. From anyone. So when you finally started dating the youngest Dimitrescu daughter, you expected to hear them at some point. It was now your two-year anniversary and she still hadn't said it — even though you had.

It broke your heart every time you said it and got no response. Like last night. The two of you were panting and covered in sweat, your face buried in her neck when you said it. She had tensed up and your heart shattered. That's why you were alone today. On your anniversary.

A low sigh passed your lips as you walked the halls of castle Dimitrescu, your movements sluggish as you recalled every time you told the romantic sister that you loved her. You were about to enter your shared room when a voice caught your attention. The voice of a maid. In your room.

"Lady Daniela... Are you sure about this?"

Before she could even bring the sickle down, Daniela screamed out her name. You refused to look at Daniela, even when she swarmed over to you and pushed her sister away.
