"[Y/N]," Mia hummed as she kissed the corner of my mouth. "Get up, Miranda has a surprise for you."

"Five more minutes," I murmured, pulling her close. "Cuddle me."

"Harsh," Miranda's voice sounded next to me. "And here I thought you'd love it."

"I will... in five minutes."

The two laughed but let me sleep the extra five minutes, thankfully. When I woke, Mia pecked my lips and motioned to Miranda before helping me out of bed. Miranda walked over and Mia covered my eyes, blinding me from whatever Miranda was putting around my neck. Mia's hands slowly moved from in front of my eyes as I was guided to a mirror, allowing me to see the collar I wore. The black fabric wasn't much to look at, but it was soft — which was more than appreciated.

What caught my eye, however, was the gold bird attached to the collar. I brushed my fingers over the bird and smiled, feeling the indentations of their names in the metal. A smile spread across my face as I turned around, ready to thank Mia and Miranda for the gift. The words caught in my throat when I noticed a pair of gold eyes in the corner of the room. 'Alci and her girls would've made noise — Mia and Miranda would've noticed them. So... Who the hell is this?!'

Concern filled the eyes and voices of my girlfriends, but the ticking of a clock seemed to drown out their voices. 'Something's not right... Why can't I speak?! Who is this?! Why can't I move?!' Fear began sinking in as the gold eyes emerged from the darkness. A tall, tan man with dark hair stepped into the light, but neither Mia nor Miranda turned around. When he noticed the confusion and fear in my eyes, he simply laughed and snatched me up.

"If anyone can get my grandchild to return, it's you." The man's voice was hoarse — as if he hadn't used it in a very long time.

'Grandchild?!' I found my strength and started struggling, elbowing him in the back of the head. "I don't even know who you are, let alone who your grandchild is!"

"So you don't remember that child you lost to those lycans? The child you searched for until you found Miranda and a new purpose? Little Isa?"

"...What do you want with them?!"

"My freedom."

Isa POV

'Kronos!' I sat up in a hurry, tossed the blanket off of my body, and rushed out of my bedroom. 'I have to reach Birdie before he does!'

Once I reached the room they were staying in, I twisted the handle and tried to force the door open, letting out a growl when it didn't budge. A shudder ran through my body when the ticking of a clock reached my ears, making me move back slightly before jumping into the door — attempting to break it down.
