Pairing: Hunter x Reader

Pronouns: She/They

Last Part: "Absolutely," I giggled as she pulled me onto her lap.

"So, Sunshine, how long have you had a crush on me?"

"Sunshine? Really?" I laughed, sliding my arms around her neck. "I refuse to answer your question, however."

"Mmm. A long time then."

"How-?!"

"Isa said the same to Lady Cassandra," Hunter shrugged with a grin. "Even though they fell in love with her at first sight."

"...I-!"

"You two are more alike in that aspect than you think. You're easy to read."

"If you knew I liked you, why didn't you say anything?!"

"I didn't know," Hunter laughed before kissing my cheek. "I had a hunch. When Isa told me they convinced you to come work here, I knew it was my chance to get close to you — find out if my hunch was correct. Glad it was."

"How long have you liked me? Was it really when I first saved your asses?"

Hunter laughed again, her arms tightening around my waist. "Let me tell you the story."

Location: New York, USA

Year: ????

POV: Hunter

"Fuck- Isa!" I winced and stumbled out of the bushes, trying to draw the attention of the Cyclops. 'They already have a few broken ribs and their sword snapped in half, they can't fight right now! Basil and I aren't much better, but we were never his target. Isa was.'

"I-I can't..." Basil growled as he tried to claw his way forward. "I can't transform — we can't get close either."

"'Go bye sea,' they said. 'It'll be fun,' they said! Did they forget Poseidon also hates the children of Hades?!"

"They've never been— oh gods..."

We cringed at the loud crack when Isa was swung into a tree. An arrow shrouded in gold light pierced the creature a moment later before a volley of similar ones followed, causing the monster to drop Isa's limp body. 'Please don't be dead...' I tried to crawl forward, the pain in my leg causing me to cry out and stop moving. 'It is broken. Fuck! We gotta get-.'

My gaze lifted when I heard running coming toward me, feeling my consciousness slip away. A few people followed — some rushing to Isa — as the girl cupped my face, her [E/C] eyes holding concern as she called for stretchers. 'Has to be a child of Apollo,' my eyes fluttered shut as a smile spread across my face. 'Or she's an angel. I'll take either.'

A Few Hours Later

"[Y/N], the odds of them living-."

"I'm not giving up," A voice hissed. "Now, get out of my section if you're not going to work. Someone has to save these three — especially that child of Hades."

I groaned softly as my eyes fluttered open, noticing the girl from before. 'A healer, that's for sure.'

"One's awake," The first voice called. "None of us have hope that the child of Hades will live-."

"Out! I have a patient that needs me!"

I smiled when the girl walked over to me. "Are you an angel?"

"Excuse me?" She giggled as she stopped next to my cot. "I think they gave you a little too much morphine."

"No, I think I'm right."

"You're high," She laughed, my heart skipping a beat at the sound. "How do you feel?"

"Hungry. Let's grab lunch?"

"Always this forward, hm?"

"I'm feelin' better already, doc. What's your name?"

"[Y/N]. Now, yours?"

"Hunter Vlahos — is this a 'yes' to lunch?"

"Maybe. And only after I permit you to leave."

I grinned as she helped me sit up. "I'll take a 'maybe'. That guy-."

"Ignore him. He's one of the few siblings of mine that isn't a healer — he wouldn't understand. We all took an oath, and we all honor it."

"If he ever speaks so grimly about Princess Isa again, I'll kill him."

"Princess?" She inquired and glanced over at Isa. "I suppose that makes sense, considering which god claimed them. Oh! Speaking of them, could you fill out a form for your friends? You're the first to-."

"Only if you'll sit and talk with me?"

"...Just until one of them needs me," [Y/N] sighed with a small smile on her face.

"Did you fire any of those arrows?"

"The first one," She nodded and handed me a clipboard. "Once the other archers caught up, the healers and I rushed over. I'm a decent marksman, but taking care of others — healing them — is more important to me. We've lost a lot of demigods throughout the years, I don't want to lose more."

"You're a kind soul," I smiled, making her giggle and glance away. "The little liege will like you."

"Little liege?"

"Technically what Isa prefers to be called — 'Princess is too feminine' they said. They won't correct you or anything, it is their status, but that's mostly reserved for speaking around the gods. Little liege will be used more often."

"And Lord Hades is fine with that?"

"He's the one that started calling them that when they came out," I laughed. "He was excited — as were the others — to find one that Isa liked being called while still holding a 'royal aura' about the title."

[Y/N] giggled again as I continued filling out the form for Isa. "I think I'd pay to see the royal family of the Underworld go through that process."

"It was... very wholesome."

"What about you?"

"Hm?"

"When you came out?" She hummed and tapped a clipboard. "Lady Hekate came and filled out your file — said she wanted to make sure her daughter would survive."

I smiled wider at that and shook my head. "Them accepting me is the reason why I started living in the Underworld. My mother found me when I was little — when she found out I was trans and my father... well, wasn't as accepting? She took me with her. The rest is history."

Present

First Person POV

"You weren't weird about any of it — that was a first — so that plus you saving our asses, and being incredibly attractive? How could I not fall for you?"

"Honestly..." I laughed and pecked her lips. "I nearly forgot about that conversation."

"I don't blame you — Isa started seizing soon after. I'm sure you were more focused on not losing a patient than that little conversation."

"Still, I should've remembered-."

"You can make it up to me," Hunter hummed, her hands slowly rubbing my thighs. "Make out session?"

"I'll take that," I smiled and cupped her cheeks, ghosting my lips over hers.

"And if you're a good girl, maybe you'll get more."
