ALURA's POV

There was never a single honest moment throughout our friendship, me and Katerina's. It was all to be on her mothers' good side. Hermione was right. I should've listened to her. I know that these could be Theo's final moments, but I still feel angry and betrayed. I understand why he couldn't tell me - his life was quite literally at stake, but I'll never know how he could continue his day without even a pang of guilt. Theo is trying to tell me more about what Katerina has done but I physically can't take anymore. I only hear a little about how she drugged me the night of the party, and as a result why I was far more wasted than Harry. Is it bad I wish that I would've never known? So Katerina and I could continue to be friends, or so Theo wouldn't die?

Harry's listening to Theo's every word intently. I don't know why or how he can't feel sick hearing all of it. Theo isn't trying to justify his or Katerina's actions, but Harry is still cursing at him. I don't try to stop him, hell, I'm silently encouraging it. My head is buried into his shoulder and his right arm is wrapped around me. Even though I'm the victim in this situation, I still feel bad. I know how bad Harry wanted to spend his first Christmas with Sirius and Stefan, and now he can't because of me.

"Does Blaise know about all of this?" Harry asked, which caused me to look up. I do want to know if he had any part in this.

"No," Theo answered honestly. I can tell by the way his eyes never left Harry's that he's telling the truth.

"How long do you have?" I asked quietly.

"Twenty-four hours. Maybe less."

Harry looked hesitant but said, "There's a loophole to everything. This isn't any different."

"I-"

"And don't think that this is for your benefit," Harry interrupted him. "I'm only asking because you're Alura's friend. I'm still pissed that you kept this in so long."

Theo doesn't look phased by what Harry said, if anything he looks amused. "I know of one. But it's impossible, and I simply don't have the guts to do it."

I began to actually listen to his words. Harry scoffed. "If you have the guts to betray Alura like this, I think you have the guts to do anything."

"I have to kill my father in order to break the unbreakable vow."

Harry doesn't look bothered. "Oh, so you're doomed?"

"I'm glad you find humor in my death," Theo said brightly.

Harry flashed a fake smile and then rolled his eyes. The door creaked open to reveal Katerina. She doesn't look surprised by the shredded photos on the ground, almost as if she expected it. She casually sits on Daphne's bed, which is across from where they are.

"It's rude to stare," Katerina chirped.

Harry looked like he was about to blow his head off. I could tell he's trying to keep his cool. Theo looked like he had just figured something out.

"You were getting less and less secretive about all of this, huh?" Theo acknowledged. "You put the photos there purposely for Alura to find."

"One point to Theodore Nott!" Katerina shouted as if it were some game. "I couldn't pretend to be your friend any longer." Katerina looked at me with fake sympathy.

I'm speechless. It was all a game to her, and she has no remorse. Harry's grip is getting tighter around me, and he's now using me as a way to not blow up. He then realized how much pressure he was putting on me and loosened his grip.

"Besides, you kind of have to give it to me, right." Katerina began walking around the room. "I mean, wow. I find it so interesting how I could fake interest for you."

"Why did you continue to be friends with me after he was gone," my voice is barely above a whisper.

"Aw, has Alura lost her voice." She fake pouts and settles back onto Daphne's bed.

"Just answer the damn question," Harry demanded.

"Demanding, I see what Alura sees in you now."

My expression changes completely. Theo is now awkwardly staring at the whole behind us, and Harry is trying to meet my eyes.

"Oh, for the love of God," Katerina groaned. "To answer your question, for fun. It was beginning to get boring listening to how hard you have it."

"We can tell Dumbledore about this. All of it. No doubt will you get expelled," Harry told her.

"Only if you want to go down with me. I know that you set the fire. So you will keep your mouth shut unless I say otherwise," she instructed. "And besides, you shredded all the proof you had."

"How could you know that I set the fire?"

Katerina smirked. "Because I was there. 'To the girl I hate the most,'" she mimicked and laughed.

"Why the hell were you in my dorm room? What if I were naked?"

"You can relax," Katerina whispered as if he were a toddler, "I've seen a boy naked before." She looked at Theo as she said it.

Harry connected the dot and commented, "Gross!"

"Please, as if you and Alura weren't about to have sex the night of the party."

"Yeah, because you drugged me," I finally spoke. "You are as deranged as your mother, maybe even more."

"Finally got your voice back?"

"Katerina, stop with the bullshit and tell them why you really did it. They know everything," Theo spoke coldly.

Katerina almost looked sad as she said, "So you're dying?"

Theo nodded.

"God, you are more stupid than I thought. Have fun knowing that you died because of your need to tell the truth."

"Just tell them your real reason."

"I volunteered for this. Not only was I supposed to weaken you, but I was also supposed to kill you."

"So why didn't you do it?" I asked her. "Why didn't you kill me?"

"I didn't have to kill you, Alura. You were already dead."
