Chapter 60
Part Two
"I'll explain everything to you. Punta muna tayo sa kwarto mo ha? Kailangan mong magpahinga," Jax said calmly.
"B-But I want to see them. Let's visit them."
"Their family doesn't allow visitors yet."
Kuya Kairon did not suspect us.
I was already on my bed and waiting for Jax to tell me about Grant and Chance. I was so worried about the two.
"Are they okay? Lalabas na rin ba sila like you?" I asked him.
Jax was slowly caressing my hair. "Y-Yeah... They'll be fine."
My forehead creased. Medyo naguguluhan doon sa sagot niya.
"I was supposed to go alone. I really wanted to try my luck on finding possible... Donors," Jax said. Papaliit ang boses niya.
"What are you saying?"
Jax held my hand. His breathing was heavy. "But then the two decided to come with me. We were almost near at the fourth hospital but unfortunately, a truck hit us... The car was badly damaged."
Tears pooled my eyes and my heart started to hurt. "I-It's because me?"
"N-No, Cali! Hindi ganoon!" ani Jax at mabilis akong inalo.
"It is! It wouldn't happen if you guys did not go there to find donors. I-It's all my fault..."
"Cali, no. Please, listen to me," Jax held my face softly. "It was an accident. Accidents happen. It's not your fault. It can happen anytime. It can happen when we are going to school or going home... It just so happen that we're going to the hospital at that time."
"But you three never go together! It's because of me kaya kayo magkakasama..." I cried while clutching on my chest.
"Hindi, ah! Plano nga naming mag-shopping na magkakasama, eh!" bawi ni Jax, sinusubukang patawanin ako.
I cried harder because I know it's not true. "You're lying!"
"Oo nga kasi... Kaya 'wag mong isipin na kasalanan mo na magkakasama kami. Nagkataon lang iyon ha? Magba-bar pa nga kami, eh. May bar pala si Chance? Walang hiyang 'yon."
Day by day, it gets worst.
"It hurts so much, My! I can't handle it anymore!" I cried in pain.
"Your Dad is calling the doctor, anak, ha. Stay put my Cali-bear, please," Mommy said.
I shook my head. "I'm so tired, My. I want to rest, My..."
And I know, I know that I don't have much time left. I know that I would have to leave very soon.
"You're the best Kuya in the entire world," I told my Kuya Kairon.
He ruffled my hair. "Alam ko," sagot ni Kuya at parang ang lungkot-lungkot niya.
