Cheater
Jax slowly pulled me into a soft hug. I was completely dumbfounded. Almost everyone cheered, nakakabingi sa lakas na ang tanging naririnig ko na lang ay 'yong kabog ng puso ko.
Sa harap ng maraming tao, yinakap niya ako. Na para bang handa niya akong protektahan sa kahit na ano.
Napapangiti ako habang naglalakad na kami ni Jax pabalik sa kanya-kanya naming kwarto. I felt really, really special...
Jax and I stopped in front of both our rooms.
"Good luck sa exam bukas," he said.
I nodded slowly. "Good luck din..."
Muli akong napatitig sa lips niya. Why is it so dry again? Tumingkayad ako para makita iyon nang malapitan, pero mabilis na napaatras si Jax.
"Jusmiyo marimar!" He looked so nervous. "B-Bakit?!"
Lumapit pa ako lalo sa kanya.
"Your lips are dry, eh..." I told him.
"Ah... Eh, sige bibili na ako ng lip balm!"
Kumunot ang noo ko at pinakiramdaman ang sariling labi.
"I have plenty!" I immediately tip-toed to reach him and I quickly plant a kiss on his lips. I made sure that I've transferred my lip balm onto him!
Nang tignan ko si Jax ay kitang-kita ko ang lubos niyang pagkagulat. His face reddened in an instant. Then it suddenly hit me... I- I freaking kiss him on the lips!
My eyes widened when I realized what I've done. Dali-dali akong tumakbo papasok sa kwarto ko. Oh my God! What did I just do?! It happened so fast!
Hiyang-hiya kong tinabunan ng unan ang sarili. Sobrang nakakahiya! Cali naman! Ikaw pa talaga ang nangunang humalik? It was my first kiss! What am I thinking? Gusto ko lang naman ilipat iyong lip balm ko sa kanya! Argh! My gosh!
Habang nagbabasa ng reviewer ay bigla-biglang nag-rereplay sa utak ko iyong nangyari. Why did I do that? Just why, Cali? I almost pull my own hair. Hmp! It was his fault to begin with! Dapat kasi inaalagaan niya ang lips niya. He should exfoliate his lips thrice a week! He should drink eight glasses of water everyday! Kasalanan niya iyan!
Halos gabi na ako naka-sleep dahil sa maiging pag-rereview. I need to do well in the Midterms. I want to do well.
Hindi naman ako pressured. Like what my Mom said... Compete with yourself, not with others. Beat your own records, because success is a fight between you and yourself.
I took a deep breath and composed myself. I'll pretend na lang that nothing happened last night. Hindi ko kasi alam kung papaano haharapin si Jax!
I opened my door and I saw Jax there, waiting for me. He waved his hand awkwardly. Mabilis akong nag-iwas ng tingin.
"D-Did you review well?" I asked. Nakatingin lang ako sa ID lace ko.
I don't even know if it's right to start a conversation at this point! I l'm so embarrassed of what happened!
Tumango siya at hindi makatingin sa 'kin. "I-Ikaw ba? May hindi ka ba naintindihan?"
"It's all good..." I told him.
Pagdating namin sa greenhouse, Gelo and Xuri started screaming like whales!
"Nakakainggit naman kayong dalawa! You're winning both in school and in love!" si Gelo na matining ang boses.
