Chapter 59

Transplant

I clutched on my chest. It hurts so much. Mas idiniin ko pa ang sarili ko kay Jax. The pain was making me weak and very tired. It felt like my whole system was shutting down.

"Cali... M-Masakit ba?" he asked and his tone was so soft. "Sabihin mo sa akin kung masakit. 'Wag mo namang itago, please."

Unti-unti akong tumango. "Pero wala 'to... I-I just need to drink my medicine," mahina kong sabi.

We made a visit to the hospital the next day. Umayos naman ang pakiramdam ko at nakatulog naman ako ng mahimbing.

"Have you been doing well physically?" my doctor asked.

Dahan-dahan naman akong tumayo. So far, I think I'm doing well. My chest pains were quite often, but when I drink my medicine, it slowly goes away.

"We have to check your heart if there are any changes. You have to stay here for about one to two days, okay?" he added.

We still need to wait for the result so we can finally look for another surgical options. But my Doctor said that it will be different from any other surgeries I had before.

Pinayagan din akong pumasok muna sa school. Hiling ko talaga na tapusin muna ang semester na ito before anything.

Prof. Somero wanted us to practice on presenting our feasibility study to the panelist. Kaya naman naghanda siya ng questions para sa amin na kailangan naming masagot ng maayos.

"If I will be asked about the uniqueness of my product, I can easily answer that. Pero kapag tinatanong ako sa importance at purpose, bokya na!" Xuri said while tapping a pen on her head. She was so stressed about it.

"The purpose is to be lasing!" I told her at mas lalo ata siyang na-stress sa sinabi ko.

"Cali naman, eh!" she cried.

Mabilis namang lumapit sa kanya si Gelo.

"Pa-beer beer ka pa kasi!" si Gelo naman iyon tapos ay tumabi kay Xuri. "Isipan na lang natin."

If Xuri was right about Gelo, then I'd be happy for them. I really wanted to ask Gelo and confront him about it but I don't want to pressure him.

Napatingin naman ako kay Chance na nakatitig kay Xuri and Gelo. That look... I know that look.

"Do you like Xuri?" mahina kong tanong sa kanya. Magkatabi naman kami kaya alam kong dinig niya.

Agad niyang inalis ang tingin doon sa dalawa. Chance scratched his head tapos ay umiling. "I don't!"

Lumapit pa siya sa akin at ginulo iyong buhok ko. "Meryenda na lang tayo!"

Chance and I went together at the food bazaar. Jax was nowhere to be found but he's probably on the head mistress' office. It might be about the academy.

"Let's get kwik-kwek!" I happily said when I saw the orange balls.

I was not sure if I could still eat street foods but konti lang naman. And it's not like it's dirty!

"Kwik-kwek?" Chance laughed at me.

"Oh, I'm sorry! Kwek-kwek, I mean!"

"Hindi na maanghang!" sabi niya pagkatapos tumikim. "No'ng huling kain natin na magkasama, sobrang anghang ng akin, eh! 'Di ko malimutan! Parang nasunog 'yong dila ko, eh!"
