Chapter 21

Fight

Nahihirapan na naman akong huminga at ang tanging gusto ko lang ay makaalis na rito. It's dark, it's cold, and I'm alone. I don't know what to do. I want to keep on shouting but I'm now too weak to do it.

Napaupo ako sa sahig at napahawak sa aking dibdib. It hurts. I feel so weak and I can't stop shaking. I want to be tough and try to break the door to get out, but my body is just so weak to even stand up again. Hindi ko alam kung ano ang nangyayari sa akin. I am having another panic attack and it's not good.

Ilang saglit pa ay nakarinig ako nang malakas na kalabog sa pintuan. Halos napaatras ako sa takot pero nang makita ko kung sino iyon ay napawi ang lahat ng pangamba.

My eyes were blurry because of the tears, but I know it's him.

"Cal!" Jax shouted and he immediately went to me. Pumaluhod siya at sinuri ako. "Are you okay? What happened?"

Nawala agad ang lahat ng takot. Pumayapa ang aking nararamdaman at maayos nang nakakahihinga ngayon.

I put my arms around his neck and cried. "I was so scared..."

"I know," Jax whispered and I felt his warm arms around my waist. "I'm here now. I won't leave."

I cried harder.

Because the fact is, he will... He will leave.

Who will protect me when he's gone? Who will be there for me when I need help? He became my knight since day one... How can I ever be without Jaxith Pereira?

He makes me feel safe in reasons I couldn't tell. Because I can't do it myself. I want to be at ease when I'm alone but because of what happened, being alone scares me. Being in the dark and cold room, alone, scares me. Para nitong binabalik ang lahat nang mga alala no'ng gabi ng nangyaring kidnapping... Nakakapanginig sa takot.

And being with Jax makes it all okay. He calms the storm... Every bit of it.

"T-They locked me here," I said in between sobs. "They are mad because of what happened to that Class D guy. They are mad at our class. May kasabwat daw silang mga tiga Class B. They also mentioned Chance."

Dahan-dahang bumitaw si Jax sa akin para maharap ako. Kitang-kita ko ang galit sa kanyang mga mata.

He held both of my cheeks and looked at me intently. "Ako ang bahala... Ako ang bahala sa mga iyon. Hindi ko 'to palalagpasin."

Tinulungan akong makatayo ni Jax at mas lalo kong nakita ang galit sa kanyang mukha nang napunta iyong tingin niya sa tuhod ko.

"What happened, Cal?" he worriedly asked.

Pinalis ko ang luha sa aking mga mata.

"I-I tripped... I went here to have my wound cleaned. I know that this clinic was closed since last week but Violet told me that it's open and–"

"Violet?"

Tumango ako at mas lalo lamang nalukot ang noo niya sa galit.

Jax checked the room. Nakakita siya ng betadine at cotton. Pinaupo niya ako roon sa hospital bed tapos ay pumaluhod siya para tignan ang sugat ko.

"Okay lang?" tanong niya at tinuro iyong jogging pants ko na may bumakat na dugo. He was asking a permission to lift it up, pumayag naman ako.

Jax rolled up my joggings pants and then it revealed the big wound on my knee.
