Valentine's Day was never super special for Chloe. Yeah she would get Trixie a card or a stuffed animal, but that was just to see her daughter smile. The holiday didn't hold and true meaning in her heart. So waking up to an empty bed, didn't really shock her all that much. After she'd gotten dressed, she went downstairs and found Trixie eating breakfast.

"Good morning."
"Hi mom. Thanks for the card. I love the stuffed monkey."

Chloe smiled and kissed her daughter's head before making her way to the kitchen bar. A card was there with a single coral colored rose. Chloe smiled.

"Did Lucifer leave early?" Chloe asked.
"Yeah, there was something he had to do at Lux."

Chloe nodded before opening the card.

Happy Valentine's day my love.
I made you both breakfast. I won't be coming into work today, but I will see you tonight. Don't worry about Trixie, she's staying at Linda's. Yes Linda is okay with it, I asked before telling. You'll hear from me again soon.
                                                ~Lucifer

She wasn't sure what that last line meant, but she supposed it didn't matter. Chloe smiled fondly. He knew her better than anyone else, and though he didn't always show it, things like this made her blush from remembering. She turned to Trixie.

"You sure your okay with staying at Linda's?"
"Yes mom. Besides, Linda's a really great babysitter."

Work felt hectic. Chloe had just walked into the building and already the environment was bustling. She made her way through the crowd and found her desk. On it was another card and two roses, one peach colored the other was orange.

I told you I'd speak to you soon.
Please pack a bag then head to Lux after work. I'll handle Trixie, don't worry. I'm very sorry about leaving you hanging, but Ms. Lopez will help and be great for you today. This isn't the last you'll hear from me.
~Lots if love, Lucifer

"What are you up to?" Chloe muttered.
"Decker!"

Chloe jumped and tuned. Ella was there excited as ever.

"Hi, gosh you scared me."
"Sorry. Hey you found the card Lucifer left."
"He stopped by?"
"Oh just to drop that off, then he said something about important plans."
"I hope he doesn't go too crazy."
"Why? Isn't it like every girls dream to have a partner who cares enough to sweep them off their feet?"
"Maybe for most, but Valentines was never anything special. The roses are lovely, but I don't need anything fancy."
"We'll, Lucifer know you. I don't think you need to be too worried."

Chloe was off around five, but before she could head to Lux she needed to pack a bag. Her house was usually lively after school because of Trixie, but when she entered, the silence felt weird. She walked to her bedroom to pack, and upon entering found another card and two more roses on the bed. One was pink the other was yellow with red tips. She shook her head before reading the card.

Welcome home.
I hope work was good, you should know that Trixie's valentines was fun. She made cookies in class and is probably doing something valentines related at Linda's. I missed you all day, but it will be worth it I promise. I hope you're enjoying the roses, if you wouldn't mind bring them with you to Lux, that'd be great.
~I love you, Lucifer

Chloe sighed before packing her bag. Whatever this boy was up to was a mystery to her, and it made her nervous.

Her drive to Lux was quiet. And once she arrived at the club, the first thing she noticed was the lack of people. Inside was empty. The lights were on but they had a soft pink and orange hue apposed to their usual harsh blue and green. She walked down the stairs and found Lucifer holding a single red rose, and a table set for dinner.

"Hi." He said.
"Hey. What's all this?"
"Well, I figured you didn't want anything super fancy, so I though I'd makes us some dinner."
"You shut down Lux so we could have dinner?"
"They'll survive the night."

Chloe smiled and shook her head.

"Here," Lucifer started, "let me take your bag."

After setting the bag to the side he turned back to look at Chloe. Her hair was down and she had changed out of her work uniform, and he couldn't imagine spending tonight with anyone else. He walked back over to her.

"This is yours."

He handed her the red rose. She took it and placed it into the center of all the other flowers she'd gotten. She looked at them. All the vibrant colors, thinking over each of their meanings and the story they told.

"Oh, is this too much?" He sounded concerned.
"No! No, it's perfect. But you didn't have to do this. I would've been happy just staying home with a movie."
"I know. But a perfect girl deserves a perfect night. And my goal is try to give you as many as I can."

Chloe smiled and wrapped her arms around his neck before kissing him. Valentine's day was still not her favorite, but at least meaning now came with the holiday.
