It Was Just A Dream

  Lucifer and God were sitting in the penthouse talking. Lucifer didn't remember how they got there, or even inviting him over. They sat there arguing. Lucifer didn't remember how they got to this point either.

"You're telling me you fell in love with a mortal woman?"
"Yes we've been over this already."
"And you picked her over going back home."
"You sound like mom, and hell was never home!!! You're an all powerful being how do you not know this?"
"First off I'm nothing like your mother, and secondly you don't belong here. You know that, I know that, and Amenadiel used to know that. You need to go."
"NO, FOR THE LAST TIME I WONT LEAVE."
"You won't go, I'll make you."
"Please the only way you could make me go is..."

Realization hit and fear entered Lucifer's eyes.

"No, you wouldn't."
"Watch me."

God snapped his fingers.

"NOO!!!"

Lucifer shot up in a cold sweat. Chloe had woken up to him thrashing in bed and was now checking him to make sure he was okay.

"What? Babe what's wrong? Please what's wrong?"

Chloe's voice was shaky. Lucifer was crying and she pulled him into a hug. He buried his face into her neck and held her tight. Chloe recognized the hold. He only hugged her like that when he was afraid of losing her. She lowered her voice when she continued.

"Hey, it's okay. I'm right here, I'm not going anywhere. It was just a dream."

Chloe was playing with Lucifer's hair. It seemed to help calm him. He lifted his head and sat his chin on her shoulder.

"I'm sorry."
"Lucifer, what are you sorry for."
"Scaring you. Having to have you make me feel better when that's my job."
"I wasn't scared, so much as I was worried if you were okay. And taking care of each other is a give and take. I'll always be here for you, you know that right?"
"Yeah. I know. I love you Chloe."
"I love you too."

Chloe pulled out of the hug and looked at Lucifer. She placed a hand of his cheek and kissed him softly.

"You feel better? Ready to go back to bed?"
"Yeah."

They laid back down. Chloe turned away from Lucifer, who wrapped and arm around her and pulled her close. She laid her arm over his and smiled as she closed her eyes. They fell asleep like this. Holding onto each other.
