15 years later
Dylan was getting coffee before he headed out to work. He was an OBGYN. He delivered babies almost everyday.
He was married to a girl named Taylor. She was sweet as ever. She loved the kids with all her heart.
After Dylan got married, Logan and Avril moved in with him at the age of ten. They'd been living together for five years in peace.
That all changed today. Logan and Avril had the choice of meeting their father who got out of prison today.
Avril walked in the door as Dylan was reading the newspaper at the kitchen table. Avril was worried. She didn't know what to do.
Should she meet her 3 month father who wasn't her real dad?
"Hey dad?" She asked.
Dylan looked up from his paper.
"What is it sweetie?" He asked.
"I don't want to meet Lucas. Logan can. I don't though." She blurted.
"Okay." He said with a slight smile.
"What's that smile for?" She asks.
"Your not his child anyways. Your mine." He shrugged.
"And mom's." She blurted.
"Yeah."
"Do you miss her?" She asks.
"Of course I miss her. I loved her. So did Lucas. Oh that reminds me," he took out two letters, "Your mom wrote these two letters to you and your brother before she died. She was going to commit suicide, but instead she was killed. I didn't want to tell you this when you were so young so I waited until the day Lucas got out of jail." He said.
"Should I wait for Logan? He has a letter too." She asked.
"you can, or you can go ahead and open it now. He can read his later." He said. She opened the letter with nimble fingers. Avril looked like Dylan at first but as she grew, she turned into her mother. She took a deep breath and read.
Hey sweetie! I love you so much. I am so sorry I did this to you. I made mistakes in my life, and I felt like I couldn't get away from them. I felt like I only had one choice. I love your father. Your real one. I also love Lucas.
He was the love of my life. He was my first love. I'm not here anymore, but I will always be in your life. When you were born you had your father's looks. Everything was him except your eyes. You had beautiful blue eyes that were just like mine.
The four months that I had you were joyful. It was filled with laughter and happiness. It was also filled with guilt. It was filled with regret for what I did. Your grandma and grandpa will take care of you and your brother. You are two of the best things that came out of my life, and I want you to know that.
I love you Avril. Never forget that. I'll be looking below at you. Hugs and kisses.
-MomAvril was crying tears of sadness and joy. She ran to her dad and hugged him.
"I love you dad! I love you. I want to go see Lucas with Logan. I want to hear their story. I want to know more about her." She blurted.
"Okay. Okay." He said.Logan came into the kitchen a few minutes later. He scanned Avril.
"What happened?" He asked.
She handed him the letter. He slowly sat in a chair and read it. He had blonde hair and blue eyes. He looked like his father.
"Logan? Do you want to meet your father?" Dylan asked after he was done reading.
"Yeah. Yeah I do." He replied.Dylan called Taylor and told her what was happening. She agreed and said she would see them for dinner. They got in the car and headed to the county jail.

He sat there. He was sitting right in front of his children, scanning them from head to toe.
He had some gray hair. He looked like he had had drug abuse in the past. He still smiled with joy.
"Hello." He said with joy.
"I'm only here for one reason. I want to know everything about my mom. Every little detail. Everything you know. You owe me. You are the reason my mom isn't here. Tell me!" She screamed. Dylan put his hand on her shoulder.
"Okay. It all started in high school, senior year. She dropped her books in the hallway and I..."
He told the story as Logan and Avril listened intently.
