Ella's POV:

My mom moved in the next day. She only had a few things: A camera, a few clothes, a picture of me, and makeup. The picture surprised me.

Today, my mom and I went out to eat. She wanted to get to know me better. So I agreed. We were going to McDonalds since she was paying.

I was getting dressed. My mom opened the door.
"Hey are you d-"
"Mom! I'm getting dressed!" I yelled.
"I'm sorry. I'll leave. Wait."

She ran up to me and grabbed my arm.
"Why did you do this?" She asked with tears in her eyes.

I had cuts on my wrists. That's right. I'm self harmed.
"My life was sucky. How could I not." I said looking down.
"Are you okay now? Do you still do it?" She asked.
"No, I don't do it anymore." I lied. I haven't since I've had Lucas.
"Okay. You finish getting dressed." She said walking out, still unsure.

I finished getting ready and walked downstairs. She was in the kitchen talking to my dad. They were laughing. They seemed happy.
"Ready to go mom." I stated.
"Oh okay honey. Bye sweetie." She said.

She then kissed my dad, grabbed her purse, and then we left. My mom didn't look like she did two days ago. She looked decent.

We got in her little, yellow bug. To be honest, I hate these cars. I don't know why though. They do look stupid.

We got out of the car, and walked into McDonalds.
"What do you want sweetie?" She asked.
"Number 2. No cheese. I'll go find a table." I hollered.
I turned around to see Lucas. I smiled. I was the first to speak.
"Hey! What are you doing here?" I asked all happy.
"I'm with my mom." He said pointing to the right corner of the building.
"Me too." I said pointing to my mom at the cash register.
"I thought she ran out on you?" He asked confused.
"She came back. She wants to get to know me better." I said rolling my eyes.
"That's cool. Does she know about me?" He said with glee.
"No. Not yet." I said.
"Okay. Come on! I want you to meet my mom!" He said thrilled.

He pulled me to his table. I stood in front of the table smiling.
"Lucas. This isn't ketchup." She joked.
"No mom." He said laughing.
"This is my girlfriend, Ella. Ella, this is my mom, Sarah." He said all serious.
"Oh so this is the famous Ella I've been hearing about." She said smiling.

All of a sudden, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around to see my mom.
"Ella? Who are these lovely people?" She asked.
"This is Lucas err, my boyfriend and his mom, Sarah." I said worried.
"Nice to meet you both. Do you mind if we sit with you guys? I would like to get to know my daughter's boyfriend." She said with a smile.
"That would be great!" Sarah replied.

We sat down at the table. Sarah was spit firing questions at me while my mom was spit firing questions at Lucas. At the end, I never really talked to Lucas or my mom.

We got out of the table to say goodbye. We all walked out to the parking lot together. Lucas and I were way behind.

I got in the stupid, yellow bug and rolled down the window.
"I love you." He said.
"I love you too." I replied.

We ended are very short conversation with a kiss. I heard aww's in the background from our mom's. I'm happy. I truly am.
