It's been almost eight months since they left the farm. Despite Rick killing Shane, Emily and Carl remained the best of friends. This changes when feelings that weren't there before spark up and change their friendship forever.

"Shh. It's okay, Judy." Carl shushed his baby sister as whined a little. I rubbed her red colored hair as she laid her head on her brother's shoulder. Carl looked up at me with a small smile, which I returned. "How'd it go? Everything okay?"
"Yeah." I stated, taking a seat next to him. "She just wanted to talk was all. Nothing important really." I rubbed my finger over Judith's cheek as a way to soothe her, but couldn't get over Carl's blue eyes burning a hole into the side of my head. I glanced over at him to see that same heart-stopping smile on his face. "What?"
"I'm happy we're together again." He stated, not taking his eyes away from mine. A blush bloomed across my face and I bit the inside of my lip to stop my smile. "After the prison, I just assumed everyone we cared about was dead."
He trailed off leaving the room silent. I watched as he turned his focus back onto his sister. "I never got the chance to ask what happened to you before we met up again."
"It was just me and dad at first. He was in bad shape and I thought I'd be better off by myself. I had convinced myself that I would be until he was on the brink of death, and then I realized how much I really need my dad." Carl explained. I rubbed his shoulder as he spoke to let him know that I was listening. "Then Michonne found us and we find the sign for Terminus. And then you guys found us."
He turned to me with that same smile again and it caused me to smile. "I feel like you're leaving out major parts of the story." I stated, causing him to shrug his shoulders.
"Just the part where I almost got eaten by walkers and then puked afterwards." He admitted, making me scrunch my nose in disgust and push his shoulder a little.
"That's an important part to know." I responded, "But I'm happy you're okay. And I'm also happy that you realized how much you need your dad around. You and Judith mean the world to him." Carl nodded his head to agree with me when I noticed the baby had fallen asleep on her brother's shoulder. "Want me to lay her down?"
"No, I got her." He stated, getting up from his seat and placing her in the basket on the floor. After, he came back over and sat next to me, wrapping his arm around my shoulder as he did so. I curled into him as we sat peacefully listening to Judith's soft snores.
After a few minutes of peaceful silence, other than Tyreese walking into the church, I noticed that a certain couple was missing. I lifted my head from Carl's shoulder and looked around in confusion. Carl noticed and asked, "What's wrong, Em?"
"Where is Alex and Olivia?"
"Um, I think they said they were going outside to look around. I'm not sure. Want to go look for them, make sure they aren't getting into trouble?" He asked.
"Sure." I replied.
He stood up before grabbing my hand and pulling me up from the bench. "Tyreese, do you mind watching Judith? We're going to go find Alex and Olivia." He asked the man, who was looking out the window.
