It's been almost eight months since they left the farm. Despite Rick killing Shane, Emily and Carl remained the best of friends. This changes when feelings that weren't there before spark up and change their friendship forever.
When the group finds...

I sighed as I took a seat next to Olivia. Seeing the stressed look on her face, I softly grabbed her hand and gave it a squeeze. She turned to look at me, her brown eyes glossed over. I gave her a tight lipped smile, not having the courage to give a real one because worry filled my bones too. She leaned her head on my shoulder and sniffled.
Rick and the others had finally created a plan. Half of the group left towards the school to make a distraction while the rest of us stayed cooped up in Gabriel's office. The said man was currently in a corner, rocking and praying under his breath.
Carl stood with his gun aimed for the door while Rosita and Eugene sat behind Olivia and I. Judith was tucked in a box to the side just in arm range in case we needed to grab her. Bob laid on the couch where he had been placed earlier with Tyreese next to him.
Everything when silent when we heard the double doors to the church open again. My heart beat picked up as I stared up at the back of Carl's head. If they found us, he'd be the first to get hurt.
"Well, I guess you know we're here. And we know you're here. And we're armed. So there's really no point in hiding anymore. We've been watching you. We know who's here." Gareth's voice called out.
"There's Bob, unless you've put him out of his misery already. And Eugene. Rosita. Martin's good friends Tyreese and Olivia." The girl next to me shuddered at the mention of this Martin character. I squeezed her hand and rubbed her arm in comfort.
"Carl. Carl's girl, Emily. Judith." I could see Carl fight the urge to turn and look at me. "Rick and the rest walked out with a lot of your guns. Listen, we don't know where you all are, but this isn't a big place. So let's just stop this now before things get more painful than they need to be."
I could hear door knobs jiggling as they tried to open the doors. "Look, you're behind one of these two doors and we have more than enough firepower to take down both. Can't imagine that's what you all want."
I slowly removed myself from Olivia's worried grasp, cocking my gun and slowly moving to stand next to Carl. "How about the priest? Father, you help us wrap this up, we'll let you walk away from this. Just open the door and you can go. You can take the baby with you. What do you say?"
Carl turned to look at the frightened man, who refused to move. If he even tried to move, I was sure Carl would put a bullet in him. Judith began crying and I mentally cursed as Carl moved to hush her.
I could hear Gareth almost laugh as he said, "I don't know. Maybe we'll keep the kid. I'm starting to like this girl. It's your last chance right now to tell us you're coming out. Are we done? We'll hit the hinges."
Silenced gunshots went off and suddenly Rick's voice pierced the thick air. "Put your guns on the floor."
"Rick, we'll fire right into that office. So you lower your gun- Ah!" Gareth cried out in pain. I softly crept over to the door and pushed it open slightly.
