I watched as Rick interrogated the beautiful, yet mysterious black woman, who knew of Glenn and Maggie's whereabouts. While Carol and I were missing, Rick had gone crazy after losing Lori, leaving the group to watch over Carl and take care of the new born. From what I've seen, he has gained some sanity back and was now going to rescue Glenn and Maggie.A mysterious African American woman showed up at the prison's gates, injured and holding a basket of formula. She had explained to everyone that she was running from a man, who was trying to kill her and abducted Glenn and Maggie. Now, at first we were cautious and unbelieving of her story until she described our group members and explained how she found the prison. Realizing part of our group was in trouble, Rick formed a team to go save them from the town they had been taken to, Woodbury.
I begged and begged for Rick and Daryl to let me go, but they refused because I had just been found and was still in terrible condition. They were worried that I'd end up getting taken, too, because I was in no condition to fight. I knew they were right, but I just wanted to help. It wasn't about proving myself to anyone anymore. Maggie and Glenn were in danger, and I wanted to be there for them, not stuck here listening to the dead silence.
They were family. They needed our help, so I was aggravated by having to stay put just to hope and pray that they would be okay. What if something happened to the others during their rescue mission? What if this what a trap drawn out by the mysterious black beauty?
I shook my head and huffed out a breath of air. Carl walked over and sat on the staircase next to me. He didn't say anything as we sat. It was a comfortable silence, so I laid my head on his shoulder. The only sound was of the baby, who Carl decided to name Judith after his third grade teacher. Sadly, I never had the chance of having her class.
As Judith began to coo in Beth's cell, I got up and slowly walked over and leaned on the doorway of the cell. Carl invited himself in and leaned against the wall inside. He was quiet as he did so, focusing on his baby sister. Carol came over and stood next to me. I noticed how she stood rigid and watched Axel, who was sitting next to Beth, intensely.
The prisoner spoke up, "You are good with her. You got little sisters?"
Beth simply replied, "No." Her attention was clearly going to be focused on Judith for a long time. She wanted to take care of Judith because she felt as though she owed it to Lori. The three of us became closer over the deceased woman's pregnancy. Beth and I had made a silent agreement when it came to Judith. She would take care of the baby's wellbeing and I would protect her at all costs. Beth didn't know how to fight, so it was my job to get stronger in order to protect Judith.
"How old are you, anyway?" His question hit a silent nerve in Carl and Carol. Carol put a hand on my arm as Beth answered telling the man that she was seventeen. "Interesting."
"May I speak with you?" Carol looked at Axel in a light anger. The man followed Carol away from the cell, but not before telling Beth that he'd be right back. As he passed by me, it took everything in me not to gag at the desperation pouring off the man.
