A week after that day Carl was proven right as I complained at every hang out that I hated doing laundry. He got his fair share of saying, "I told you so."

Alex got better quickly and it wasn't long after that Olivia admitted that she had feelings for him to Beth and I. That relieved all my nerves as I finally knew that she wasn't interested in Carl.

Carl and I hadn't spoken about the kiss since that day. Of course Beth and Olivia would constantly try to get me to tell them what happened, but I refused simply stating that I didn't know what they were talking about. Since nothing had happened ever since, I assumed Carl didn't have the same feelings that I did. Though, the girls definitely made it their mission to make me think he did by telling me that he was staring at me from a distance throughout the days.

Alex was no help as he did everything in his power to make Carl jealous, whether it be wrapping an arm around me whenever Carl was nearby or taking good luck kisses on my cheek whenever he left for runs that I wouldn't be going on, which always ended in him getting punched by myself. His whole plan, however, backfired on my part for two reasons: Olivia and Daryl. If Carl was jealous he did his best to conceal it and it was working, but Olivia on the other hand would rant continuously as we helped Beth with Judith.

I had told her each time that she should just tell Alex how she felt so he would stop. She didn't know Alex's feelings for her like I did. She'd become bashful each time, saying that she couldn't possibly admit her feelings to him.

However, Daryl was harder to convince that it was all on Alex's part. Each time he questioned me about it, I would tell him the exact same thing. "My feelings for Alex are strictly platonic. He's just a friend. Nothing more." He eventually questioned Alex himself and got the exact same answer from him with a laugh. This somehow convinced the redneck when I couldn't.

Daryl and I had gotten closer. I had thought on multiple occasions about calling him 'dad', but I didn't know if he would be okay with it, so I held off on it. He started taking me on a lot of runs, and I wasn't allowed to go on them unless he was there. After what happened to Alex, he didn't want the same or worse to happen to me.

So when he told me that I could go on the biggest run we had ever done, I jumped at the chance. At the moment, I was getting geared up to go on the run. The only thing I had missing was my gun. Since Carl had told me about his father taking his gun away, I decided to support him by giving my gun to Daryl unless we were on runs.

I ran outside to find Daryl talking to Carol and Patrick at the little shack that had been made for barbecuing the meat that Daryl and others would bring back from. I walked up just in time to see Daryl lick his fingers before shaking Patrick's hand. I squished my nose up in disgust before muttering "Ew!"

Daryl smirked at me before nodding his head for me to follow him and Carol. I waved goodbye to Patrick and followed them to the corner of the courtyard that overlooked the fences where people were safely stabbing the many walkers in the head. "About today, I don't know if we're gonna be able to spare a lot of people for the run." Carol stated, as we looked over the fences.
