I think Carl and I would've stayed back there all night hugging each other if it hadn't been for Beth coming to check on us. When she saw me and Carl hugging, she immediately ran over and joined the hug. She told us multiple times how happy she was that we had made up.

We eventually went back to the area where they had pulled out a different board game.  I pushed Alexander off of my side of the couch and took my seat to see what game they had brought out. It just happened to be jenga, which wasn't exactly a board game.

"Are we playing partners like usual or individual players?" Olivia asked as Beth poured the blocks.

"Partners, duh!" Beth giggled, "Since Carl showed up we have an even number of players. That is if you want to play, Carl?"

Beth looked to the blue eyed boy questioning him. The others looked to him as well since he would be the one deciding how we play. Not knowing what to say, he looked over to me. I gave him a small smile of reassurance. "Uh, yeah. I can play." He stated, looking back to Beth.

The others laughed excited for the game. I noticed Patrick lightened up while I was gone. I smiled at the fact that the boy was finally relaxing and having fun.

"I call Emily!" Alex called out with a proud smile on his face. The girls began complaining how that wasn't fair. "Hey, I called dibs. You can't beat dibs!"

"Uh, no. I'm still mad you for earlier. Plus I get to choose." I spoke up, leaning forward with a cocky smile on my face. "And I don't choose you as my partner."

Alex reflected my smile as he leaned forward across the table from me. "Oh, and who is it that you choose to be your partner, Pebbles?"

I frowned at him as he used that stupid nickname. This seemed to give him a victorious attitude. I smirked at him. "I choose Carl."

The girls laughed at Alex's and Carl's shocked faces. Alex began pouting as I smirked in victory. I stuck my tongue out at him and then laughed.

Once the game was set up, I waited for the other four to figure out who their partners were. I noticed Carl was standing to the side awkwardly so I scooted over and patted the spot beside me for him to sit. He did just that. I turned to him once he was sat comfortably next to me. "You can relax, you know?" I whispered.

He gave me a shy smile as his cheeks turned a slight red. "I haven't actually hung out with a lot of people in a long time. Plus I'm trying to get used to having you back." He whispered back to me. It was my turn to blush as he said that.

I bit my lip and turned my attention back to the others. Beth has decided to be Patrick's partner leaving Alex and Olivia stuck with each other. Olivia complained saying that Alex was a terrible jenga player which I agreed to. I was always the one stuck with him as my partner before tonight.

The game quickly began after Beth hushed Olivia and asked Patrick to go first. We decided that all the boys would go first and then us girls would. I found out that Carl wasn't too bad of a player, but he was certainly better than Alex.
